Anyone is capable of creating a fantastic work of art by themselves after acquiring the basic concepts and fundamental skills of this art. Flower arranging used to be a required "mannerism" for well-educated men, such as samurais or monks. It would be a waste not to experience our genuinely unique culture! 1. A trip highlight!
The Ikebana Experience was a highlight of our fantastic trip to Japan. Kimi is delightful and gave us a deeper understanding of the history and philosophy of ikebana. Then she gently and enthusiastically instructed us in making our own flower arrangements. The townhouse where she teaches is itself lovely and traditional. People we showed photos of our arrangements couldn't believe how good they were. This was definitely worth the stop.

Fantastic Ikebana Class with Kimiko
We did the Ikebana experience with Kimiko. She explained the history of Ikebana and the evolution of styles over the ages. Next the use of direction and space was demonstrated. My wife and I then made a flower arrangement with some minor hints from Kimiko. We could not believe that we actually created a beautiful Ikebana. Great cultural experience.

This is an excellent cultural immersion experience with a knowledgeable and friendly host and teacher. Kami-san is an expert and a caring master and teacher of ikebana. The experience is relaxing and rewarding.

Best part of my trip!
Book now - I wish I had done all three classes, but the other two were full one day prior. Kimi fit me into the one class, she was welcoming, personable, and knowledgeable. She started with the history of Ikebana and always stopped to ask if I was understanding her along the way. Her English is very good, and she is a natural teacher - HIGHLY recommend!!
