    Horse riding well worth it

Loved the horse riding experience. 2 levels for beginners and intermediates. The guides were professional and passionate. Afterwards, no one had information on where and when to meet for the whale tour. It took awhile to get the details. Though the crew was very friendly and knowledgeable, we did not enjoy the whale watching tour. Their idea of “rough seas” would be the average persons idea of being on “The Deadliest Catch.” About 1/3 of the passengers were vomiting and if you didn’t take the free dramamine in time you were out of luck. We saw a few backs of whales, but nothing worth the level of nausea we experienced.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience with us. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the horse riding part of your adventure and appreciated the professionalism and passion of our guides. We also truly value your comments regarding the whale watching portion of the experience. Unfortunately, Icelandic waters can sometimes be challenging, and sea conditions may vary from day to day. We always recommend being prepared, and our team provides seasickness tablets at check in to help prevent nausea and discomfort during the tour. We are sorry to hear that the conditions affected your enjoyment of the whale watching experience and that this part of your day did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving and providing the best possible experience for our guests.

    Excellent your

Absolutely brilliant! Guides make you feel at ease (especially as someone very nervous around horses). Begins with being given a horse based on experience, make some time to befriend your horse before getting on and setting off! Start at a steady walk and then splits into two groups one steady and the other faster Guides are very knowledgeable and tell you all about the majestic Icelandic horses and the lava field you travel across with lots of photo opportunities

    Greatest moment of my trip!

Great experience. Being a regular rider, I got to experience the tölt. Wouldn't have missed that for anything. Best moment of my trip. Be sure and take your camera. The pictures they take of you on your horse are spectacular!

    Interesting ride

It was like sitting on a box driving a truck with square wheels getting a tow by the horse in front. I have more years with horses than these kids have been alive. A nice group of kids, (a little "know it all" comes out at times ) if you are a horse person, save yourself some stress and stay on the slow ride and take some pics, it's more pleasant than riding a trotter that loves sniffing tail

Book this trip if you’d like a horse experience.

Amazing horse experience with some of the nicest staff a company can have. My horse was Bliki and he was the nicest horse. Groups were. It too big and the staff were all personable.

Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik cost?

    +

Prices start at $123 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik take?

    +

Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Icelandic Horse Riding and Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
