Unique Stargazing Experience
Although it’s really regrettable that we didn’t have the luck to witness the dazzling dance of the northern lights, we had a taste of waiting in the dark, cold, and broadly wide field under the sky stargazing and sipping hot chocolate, which was also unique and beautiful. We especially appreciated the driver driving us to our abode with his own car after knowing that my mom was exhausted and old and there’s no public transportation at 2 am. He’s so kindhearted and will always remind us the safest country as well as the beauty and brilliance of humanity of Icelanders.

Guided by a gentle, warm and patient man, Mr. Tian will not only explain Iceland's history but also teach you how to judge the appearance of the Aurora. During this journey to catch the aurora, he was undaunted by the cold and looked carefully outdoors again and again for where the aurora might appear. Whenever the aurora showed up, he would gallop back to his car and greet everyone off, never leaving tourists waiting in the cold. Some travelers want to take pictures for help, not only patiently instructing in adjusting the parameters of their phones and cameras, but also pressing the shutter every time seriously, even to find a better angle to shoot, kneeling in the thick snow just to help everyone leave satisfactory photos. In preparing surprises for everyone, he pays careful attention to each person's small needs and tries to satisfy them. Although I couldn't see my dream "Aurora Super Invincible Burst" this time because of the weather, I also met a very moving Aurora that will leave unforgettable travel memories in my mind. Last night was my last night in Iceland, and I searched the dark snow alone, looking up at the starry sky, recalling my three-day chase for the aurora, desperately trying to remember the beauty of this journey through the stars, never to forget. Delay despite strong aurora forecast
The bus was delayed for over 40 minutes due to heating issues and waiting to pick up passengers missed from another tour. We could only drive to a place close to the city with lots of lights around because the aurora already exploded while we were waiting and driving to a close location. Very disappointed by the arrangement as I don’t understand why we should wait for other tour’s customers and sacrificed the whole bus’s opportunity to see the peak.

Poorly organized and unprofessional – They wasted the best aurora window
I am an expert at chasing the northern lights, and this tour was a massive letdown. The logistics were a mess. We arrived at 10:00 PM but waited over 40 minutes because three people didn't show up and they were trying to consolidate passengers from other agencies. Standard practice is to leave on time; instead, they penalized those of us who were punctual. During our wait, a large area of high aurora activity (the red zone) peaked, and we missed half of it just sitting in the bus. The driver even gave us false information, stating there was no activity. When we finally parked, the location was poorly chosen—too close to bright city lights because they didn't have time to drive further. We were rushed to get out and only had 10-20 minutes during the strongest display. We were back at our hotel by 1:00 AM, making the total tour time less than the 4 hours we paid for. Very unprofessional and not a true aurora chasing experience.

Disappointment
Unfortunately, our experience with the Northern Lights tour was very disappointing. The tour was cancelled on the first day due to weather, and we were told we would be placed on the excursion the following day. However, the next day we received a call saying the tour was fully booked and we could not go because we were leaving the day after. Instead of offering a proper solution, we were given vouchers for a future tour. But for visitors who may not return to Iceland anytime soon, this is not a real solution. It feels unfair to keep customers’ money without providing the experience that was promised. While we understand that Northern Lights tours depend on weather, the company should reserve space for guests whose tours were cancelled the previous day. Unfortunately, this was not the case for us.
