Missed bus that cost 185.00 dollars taxi ride

Pick up time is confusing. It said 5.30am pick up time in large print. In small print says pick up is starting at 5am and lasting until 5.30am . We were at the stop at 5.10am. They would not give us a credit and it cost 185.00 for a taxi to the airport. Check your ppick up times carefully. They are confusing.

Response from the operator: Dear William, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been, especially when travelling to the airport. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment this caused. On our Reykjavík Excursions vouchers, we state that hotel and bus stop pickups begin up to 30 minutes before the selected departure time, as pickups take place within a scheduled window. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for how this information is displayed by third-party booking platforms such as Viator, and we’re sorry if this created confusion. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it highlights the importance of checking the pickup details on the final voucher. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back under better circumstances. Warm regards, Rute

    Don’t take the bus

Honestly I wouldn’t suggest you take the bus to the airport. You have to wait in any kind of weather outside. They use a grace period of 30 minutes. It’s not worth it. I’m a travel agent and wouldn’t suggest this to my clients.

Response from the operator: Dear Angela, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that our airport transfer service did not meet your expectations. We understand that waiting outdoors can be uncomfortable, especially in Iceland’s unpredictable weather. Unfortunately, the bus stops are part of the city's public transport infrastructure and are managed by the City of Reykjavík, so we are unable to provide shelters or make changes to those facilities. Our pickup window of up to 30 minutes is designed to accommodate multiple stops throughout the city and is communicated in our booking information to help ensure a reliable service for all passengers. We appreciate your comments and will take them into consideration as we continue to improve our service. Thank you again for your feedback. Warm regards, Rute

It’s wonderful to know that the bus was ready when you arrived at the terminal and that your journey to and from the airport was smooth and hassle-free. Providing a reliable and comfortable transfer is exactly what we strive for. Thank you again for travelling with us. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Iceland. Warm regards, Rute

    Airport shuttle

Fly bus had many changes to pick ups on Saturday. The marathon was going so it was crazy. We missed the first pick up place, but I called them and they made arrangements for us to be picked up later. Great service, and the transportation was great to get back to the airport

Response from the operator: Hello Teresa, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that our team was able to assist you after the changes to pickup locations caused by the Reykjavík Marathon. We're especially pleased that, after missing the first pickup, our team could arrange another option and help get you safely on your way to the airport. Thank you for your kind words about our service and for choosing Flybus. We hope to welcome you on board again on your next visit to Iceland! Kind regards, Inga

Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport cost?

    +

Prices start at $52 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport take?

    +

Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 173 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport?

    +

Around 61 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Iceland Airport Transfer from Reykjavík Hotels to KEF Airport start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
