Aggressive Captain

The first half of the trip was great, and we were having a lovely time as a family with our teenage children. The staff were all lovely and friendly, with the exception of the captain, whose behaviour unfortunately left a real sour taste at the end of what had otherwise been a really enjoyable experience. Food was brought out, including Spanish omelette, but there were no clear instructions about who the food was for, how it was intended to be shared, or where the wooden sticks used to hold the portions together should be disposed of. As a family, we were sitting around a table and some of the food was placed in front of us. People sitting nearby, including those behind us, weren’t sure where they were supposed to get food from, as nothing had been placed in front of them. We therefore naturally started offering the food around, and a couple of people took some. The table behind us was occupied by one large group, who appeared to be sharing the food placed on their table. The captain then came over and aggressively shouted at us in front of the entire, very busy boat, telling us that the food wasn’t just for us and was for everyone. There was still plenty of food available, so we were genuinely confused as to what we had done wrong. He then continued shouting about the wooden sticks and where we had left them. The way this was handled was completely unnecessary and, quite honestly, extremely embarrassing for me and my family. I hadn’t seen anyone else being instructed about where to put the sticks, and until we were singled out, I hadn’t realised there was a particular place they were expected to go. If there are specific instructions about sharing food or disposing of waste, these should be made clear to everyone at the start. On a busy boat with crashing waves, it’s also not always easy to move around safely, so perhaps an empty bowl or container for the wooden sticks would be a much better solution. It’s a shame because the trip itself started off so well, and all of the other staff were lovely. Unfortunately, the captain’s aggressive and embarrassing manner completely overshadowed the end of the experience for us. A little clearer communication and a more respectful approach would have made all the difference.

Response from the operator: We’re very sorry to hear about what happened and that this situation affected your experience, especially after you had enjoyed the rest of the trip. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to explain everything in detail. We will investigate this internally with our team to understand exactly what happened. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and helping us improve.

Best night of the holiday

This has been our favourite night of the holiday! we are a family of 4 (daughter 16 and son 12) and it suited all of us. It was excellent value for money and there are unlimited drinks and tapas as well as an hours snorkelling or paddle boarding. The staff were friendly and hard working. It was a really fun atmosphere with great music. A great way to see the beautiful ibiza sunset too!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much! 😊 We love hearing that this was your favourite night of the holiday and that the whole family enjoyed it. It’s great to know you had fun with the music, water activities, tapas and drinks, and of course the Ibiza sunset. Thank you as well for your kind words about our crew. We’d be very happy to welcome you all on board again!

Captain’s Behavior Was Completely Unacceptable

I never leave reviews like this, but this experience was so absurd I have to. The boat itself was fine, though very crowded, and the check-in and bar staff were delightful. Unfortunately, the captain was one of the rudest people I’ve encountered while traveling. We took beers into the water, unaware this wasn’t allowed. Other passengers confirmed they also never heard an announcement. When told, we immediately swam back to return them, but the captain continued screaming at us, calling us crazy and stupid, then sprayed an entire beer directly into our faces. Later, after someone apparently brought a prohibited item into the bathroom, he yelled at passengers nearby, locked the bathroom for the rest of the trip, then pulled out a clogged tampon and waved it around the boat while food was being served. I genuinely wish I were joking. We were not drunk or disrespectful, just three women enjoying a day in Ibiza. Multiple passengers approached us afterward to say his behavior was completely unacceptable.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We take your comments regarding the captain’s behaviour seriously and will be looking into what happened with our crew. We would, however, like to clarify two important points. Our swimming stop is in a protected natural area, so drinks must remain on board to prevent cans, cups or any other waste from accidentally ending up in the sea. Regarding the toilet, we explain before departure that wipes, tampons and other non-biodegradable items must not be flushed, as they can block the system. This is also clearly displayed inside the toilet. That said, these rules do not take away from your concerns about how you say the situation was handled. We will be reviewing this internally to establish exactly what happened. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Great trip

Had a fabulous time, drinks were flowing and the stop off seen everyone get in the sea and try paddle boards/water bikes and generally enjoying the water. Music onboard got everyone up dancing. Loved it. Would recommend.

Response from the operator: Sounds like you really got into the Ibiza spirit! 😄 A swim, paddle boards, water bikes, flowing drinks and everyone dancing on board — that’s exactly the kind of afternoon we love to see. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ibiza.

How much does Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar cost?

+

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ibiza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ibiza is not rushed.

Is Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ibiza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar?

+

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ibiza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ibiza and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ibiza Sunset Boat Trip Tapas and Open Bar start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ibiza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ibiza?

+

On Outty we rank every Ibiza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ibiza Beach Hopping Cruise with Paddleboards, Drinks and Food 6h, Ibiza - Xarraca Bay- Kayaking Tour MultiActivity snorkel, caves, 3 Hours All Inclusive Boat Trip Ibiza. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ibiza?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ibiza?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
