Absolutely disappointing – transfer problems, harassment by the captain, and significantly less service than promised
We booked the “Orange Bay Island VIP Snorkeling Sea Trip W/ Lunch – Hurghada” on 08/20/2026 via CHECK24. What was intended to be a nice vacation day with two adults and two children unfortunately turned into one of the most unpleasant experiences of our trip to Egypt. The problem began with the transfer. We were charged an additional €40 for pickup from Makadi Bay. We were subsequently told via WhatsApp that hotel security had not let the transfer bus through. We then spoke with security ourselves. It was confirmed to us there that no such vehicle had been at the gate. Other passengers also confirmed to us later that there had apparently been no such discussion at the hotel at all. Particularly annoying: We were subsequently dropped off at the wrong boat as well and had to figure out for ourselves where the correct ship was located. On the return trip, the whole thing repeated itself. Although the hotel security had explicitly authorized access, the driver refused to drive to the reception and dropped us off at the outer gate with two children. For a transfer for which an additional €40 was charged, this is simply not acceptable. Even more unpleasant, however, was the captain's behavior. First, he asked me for a selfie and then asked me to send him the photo via WhatsApp. Through this contact, a personal outreach began that became increasingly uncomfortable for me. The captain wrote to me repeatedly, flirted heavily with me, and constantly sought my proximity on board as well. I made it clearly known multiple times that I have no interest. Nevertheless, he did not stop. Even the then-desperate indication that I have no interest in men in general, or rather that I am a lesbian, did not lead him to stop his advances. On the contrary. I found his behavior to be massively overstepping boundaries. Especially on a ship, where one cannot simply leave, such a situation is particularly uncomfortable. We were also traveling with two children and actually wanted to spend a relaxing day on an excursion. To this day, I have the WhatsApp messages and screenshots of this communication and also sent them to the local organizer, who is quite obviously not interested, because no one has contacted me since the complaint. The advertised services were also not fully provided. The supposedly German-speaking tour did not exist in this form. There were only a few German-speaking guests on board, while the vast majority of the group consisted of Arabic-speaking guests. Unfortunately, the atmosphere on board was also anything but pleasant for us. Other guests behaved in an extremely intrusive manner at times, repeatedly sitting in our seats or directly next to or on our personal belongings and did not respect our boundaries. Although the guide on site intervened at times, overall we did not feel that our needs as guests were taken seriously. The stay at Orange Bay was supposed to be two hours according to the booking. In fact, it was only about 90 minutes. However, I would like to explicitly mention the guides Nour and Ibrahim in a positive light. Nour made a great effort to ensure our safety on site and tried to mediate, and Ibrahim helped me out of a very critical situation in the water. Parts of the rest of the staff were also friendly. Unfortunately, that does not change the overall rating of the excursion. The local operator itself did not respond to my repeated attempts to contact them regarding the incidents and in particular the captain's behavior. My conclusion: For us, definitely not a VIP experience and not an excursion that I can recommend with a clear conscience. Too many promised services were not provided as they were advertised. In addition, there were significant problems with the transfer and, above all, a personal boundary violation by the captain, which for me ultimately turned the excursion into a negative experience. Anyone looking for a relaxing snorkeling trip should, in my experience, think very carefully about whether this offer is the right choice.

One of the best trips I went for.. I sent a joyful day and had so much fun. They are organized and everything happened in time as on the schedule. The island itself is worth visiting; amazing spot! I will definitely do it again with them.

Orange Island, Hurghada
An excellent and well planned experience. The communication, prior to the trip, was very good and well structured. We really enjoyed visiting Orange Island but you must realise that you are sharing this experience with many other tourists. The food on board the boat was very tasty and plentiful, as were the drinks. The two snorkelling experiences were well planned out and thoroughly enjoyable. The hospitality, on board, exceeded our expectations and we can strongly recommend this experience to others👌🏻
