Once we arrive in Luxor, our first visit will start at the Karnak Temple. The Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex in Egypt on the eastern bank of the Nile. The large pillared hall is one of the most important architectural areas of the temple. The temple complex consists of three areas surrounded by walls. The first is that of Amun (ancient Egyptian Ipet-sut “place of election”). The second area is the District of Month and the third area is that of Mut. The oldest remains of the temple that are still visible today date from the 12th dynasty under Sesostris. The temple complex was continually expanded and rebuilt until the Roman Empire. Outstanding among the ruins are the temples of Amun-Re with a total of ten pylons. Among other things, you will see the holy lake, it has a size of 120 × 77 meters and is located south of the central temple building, the lake is fed by groundwater. Marvel at the large pillared hall, statues, pylons and obelisks.

The day tour from Hurghada to Luxor, I can’t recommend it highly enough

The tour was organized for a very small group just six of us which made the entire experience feel almost like a private tour. It was the perfect balance between comfort, personal attention, and shared discovery. The journey from Hurghada to Luxor took about four hours each way, but the drive was smooth and comfortable in a clean, air-conditioned mini-bus. Our driver was professional and friendly, and we felt safe throughout the trip. What really made this tour exceptional was our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about Egyptian history, and had a way of bringing ancient sites to life with fascinating stories and insights. His explanations were detailed and engaging without ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. He patiently answered all our questions and adjusted the pace of the tour to suit our group, allowing us plenty of time for photos and breaks, especially important as one of us had some mobility issues. We started with the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, followed by visits to the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and the beautiful Temple of Hatshepsut. Each site was unique and powerful, and the small group size meant we never felt crowded or hurried. We even had time for a lovely lunch in a local restaurant, where we could relax and enjoy some authentic Egyptian food. What I appreciated most was the personalized touch our guide truly cared that we had a meaningful experience. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt included and engaged. By the end of the tour, it felt like we were traveling with friends rather than strangers. Visiting Luxor has always been on my bucket list, and this tour exceeded all expectations. If you're looking for a deep, well-organized, and memorable historical tour from Hurghada with personal attention and expert guidance, this is absolutely the way to go. I would book with this company again in a heartbeat.

Day trip to Luxor from Hurghada

Our day trip to Luxor from Hurghada was absolutely incredible, From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and stress free. The early morning pickup was right on time, and the comfortable, air-conditioned minivan made the long drive feel easy. Once we arrived in Luxor, our guide was waiting with a warm smile and an impressive depth of knowledge. Every stop from the Valley of the Kings to Karnak Temple, Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon, was brought to life with fascinating history and stories. Being in a small group made the experience even better, as we had plenty of time for questions and photos without feeling rushed or crowded. Lunch by the Nile was delicious and relaxing, and the optional Nile boat ride was such a peaceful bonus! The entire day was packed with highlights, but it never felt overwhelming thanks to the smooth pacing. This trip was easily one of the best parts of our Egypt vacation. My trip from Hurghada to Luxor with Hurghadatogo

The journey was seamless and filled with awe-inspiring discoveries that left a lasting impression. The private transfer was extremely comfortable, offering a luxurious and stress-free ride through the mesmerizing landscapes of Egypt. The convenience of being picked up directly from our hotel in Hurghada made the experience even more enjoyable. Along the way, our driver was both professional and courteous, making sure we were well taken care of. Upon arriving in Luxor, we were greeted by our knowledgeable Egyptologist guide Mr Yasser, who was nothing short of exceptional. His passion for Egyptian history and culture was infectious, and he provided captivating insights into each site we visited. At the Valley of the Kings, we marveled at the intricate tombs of the pharaohs, The Temple of Karnak was another highlight, with its colossal columns and detailed hieroglyphics. Having a private guide meant we could customize our itinerary to suit our interests, which was a huge plus. We never felt rushed and were able to explore at our own pace, enjoying the flexibility and personal attention that comes with a private tour. Overall, this trip was a perfect blend of comfort, education, and adventure. If you're considering visiting Luxor from Hurghada, I highly recommend opting for a private transfer with an Egyptologist guide.

Disappointing for a private tour

Booked a private tour thinking it would be quicker, comfortable & better overall but very disappointed. To start the journey there and back was horrendous in the car, roads are very bad so felt everything, was painful, we got picked up 4am in the dark and when we arrived and got out of the car at around 9am we noticed how dirty the inside of the car was! There were footprints on the car seats and dust everywhere! We met Tariq our tour guide at our first stop, to be honest not a very engaging person, we felt like he marched us around the stops then gave us free time after to go back around ourselves to take photos, this happened at every stop during the day. Didn’t understand why we couldn’t both at the same time. We were charged an extra €50 for the 2 of us to go on a 20 minute Nile cruise where is was advertised as €10 per person. We had been looking forward to this so had to pay it but not worth the cost. Lunch was good, the driver was good, the sites were good, Luxor was beautiful but the day was a let down due to our tour guide and the car journey.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and that there were several aspects of your tour that were disappointing. We understand that the long journey to and from your destination was uncomfortable due to the road conditions, and we sincerely apologize for the pain this caused. We will work with our transportation providers to ensure the vehicles are cleaner and more comfortable for our guests, as this is not the standard we aim to provide. We also regret that you found your tour guide, Tariq, less engaging than you had hoped. We always strive for our guides to provide informative, engaging, and personalized experiences, and we will be sure to share your feedback with him to improve future tours. Regarding the format of the tour, we will revisit our approach to ensure a more seamless experience, so guests can enjoy the best of both guided exploration and personal time to take photos without feeling rushed. We apologize for the confusion regarding the Nile cruise. The price for the cruise can vary depending on the type of boat and timing, and we’ll make sure to clarify this information in future communications to avoid any misunderstandings. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the lunch, the driver’s service, and the sites in Luxor. We know that the beauty of the place is a highlight, and we hope it left you with lasting memories despite the other challenges during your trip. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to improve both the experience and service we offer. We do hope you’ll consider traveling with us again in the future and give us the opportunity to deliver a much more enjoyable and smoother experience. Warm regards, Ahmed Diaa

Great time

We had a great time on our trip to the Valley of the Kings! As others have said, you pack *a lot* into this trip. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but just be prepared for it to be a rushed day. Having said that, our guide Rasha offered lots of information and gave us plenty of free time to walk about and take pictures after she explained a few things about each site. Although you went quickly, it felt enough time for us but a lot of these sites could probably take 2-3 hrs each to fully explore! For a day trip, you get a good taste of what it’s all about. I’ve marked this down a star only because our van was on the small side. If you’re 5’8” or taller, then you may struggle. However, they do stop along the way for you to stretch your legs, etc. One thing to mention is that the vans are equipped with seat belts and there are two drivers on the trip (which is good since it’s a long day)! All in all, we felt this was real value for money. Would recommend to friends & family

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.

How much does Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.

Is Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hurghada Luxor Private Guided Tour valley of the kings w Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hurghada?

+

On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada: Luxor Valley of the Kings & Tutankhamun Tomb Trip, Orange Bay Island, Luxury Cruise to Orange Bay and Hula Hula island Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hurghada?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hurghada?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
