Very Poor Experience
Nightmare Island Let’s start with the obvious. The trip is called Dream Island, yet you actually visit an island named Eden Island. The tour is advertised as having professional guides who cater to your needs. Our group consisted of 30 members, and my wife and I were the only English-speaking guests, with the rest being German and Austrian. Our professional guide took their time addressing the majority in their language, and I had to ask three times for an explanation in English so my wife and I would be aware of the itinerary and plans. Their occasional laughter, as if remembering to speak to us in English, was quickly forgotten, and they catered to the masses, leaving us in the dark about what was happening most of the day. Soft drinks are provided on the boat, but you have to pour your own from large 3-litre bottles of fizzy drinks that go flat very quickly. Although the tour itinerary suggests that you can purchase alcohol at an extra cost, there was not a cold beer to be found anywhere on the boat or, in fact, on Eden Island when we landed. Instead, there was an array of shops, souvenir shops, ice cream shops, and juice bars where you could purchase items at exorbitant prices, in addition to the cost of the trip. The TripAdvisor/Viator advert for this tour states that you get limited soft drinks on the island, which simply is not true. You are informed when you get off the boat that you need to pay for anything you consume on the island. The same is true about the port departure fee; although advertised as included in the price when you bought it on the boat, you are told there is a $6 charge. After an average lunch, where many guests felt entitled to light up cigarettes while others were still eating next to them, we were taken to a snorkel spot with no fewer than 14 other boats, all filled with divers, snorkellers, and swimmers in the water over and around the reef. We decided it was safer for us to stay on the boat. We were so disappointed that many of the things advertised as included on this trip were not, in fact, included. We did not feel part of the trip, welcomed, or accommodated. I find it difficult to believe that this trip has received so many five-star reviews. If you are looking for a relaxing trip, sipping a cold beer and being spoken to in English, this is not for you. If your idea of a good day out is having ash flicked on you, smoking at mealtime, not being told lunch is ready, having your feet stepped on, people pushing in at snorkel time, drinking warm flat drinks that you need to serve yourself, people belching loudly, or watching one man place his hand down the front of his girlfriend’s bikini on the boat, then this is definitely for you.

Greatest holiday day
The trip with island stay, snorkeling, banana driving and lunch, was incredibly great. Nader our guide was great and the boat crew and photographer sweetened the day. It was from start to finish, the most beautiful day I have ever spent on holiday. Everything was super nice and fun that eating on the boat was super delicious that snorkeling was absolutely spectacular. Gladly again via flash Tours

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hurghada Dream Island: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Hurghada Dream Island cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hurghada Dream Island take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Hurghada Dream Island worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hurghada Dream Island?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hurghada Dream Island suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hurghada Dream Island?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hurghada Dream Island start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
