Disappointing
I’m actually sat on the coach as I write this and totally despondent about the trip. We got picked up from the Royal Lagoon Hotel and deposited across the road at an Egyptian shopping Mall for an hour!! We were then taken to a harbour wall to look at the sea! Then taken to the Mosque. Respectfully dressed and shoes removed. Two minutes in and out. Then a large church! For ten minute visit. We stayed on the bus as we are non religious. I just could be converted however and start praying the meal included in the tour is worth the money so far. The tour guide talked throughout with a microphone to close to his mouth and didn’t understand a word he said; he speaks very good English.

Mohamed Said's great tour around Hurghada
Mohamed Said was our tour guide for the trip around Hurghada. he was very knowledgeable about the city and took us to many places - fish market, boat yard, mosque, marina, church and others. He was good at explaining to us about the city and showed us both the developed and less developed areas, which we appreciated. He was good at looking after us.

Great experience, super planned. First class guide.
We booked the Hurghada city tour directly with a tour guide of our tour company. The conversation about possible tours was a kind of welcome. It is quite possible to start the tour at other times of the day, but we were directly advised not to start before 4 pm, which I felt at this point quite important for us because as Central Europeans the temperature at lunchtime in Egypt can be quite exhausting. As it was a private tour we were welcomed at the hotel at the scheduled time by our German speaking guide and we went in the air-conditioned mini-bus towards Hurghada. On the way, the guide asked what interests we have in the tour or what we would like to see and what we wouldn't. Again, the tip did not start immediately with the marina but perhaps first to visit a bazaar, which is located in an also air-conditioned building, due to the temperatures. There were also recommendations to look at the production of oils in this area, which had quite aroused our interest. So we lead first to the production tour and then to the bazaar. Along the way, the guide always took care of cold drinks that have just come at the right time for our children. Thanks again at this point to Gamal, our guide. He could tell a lot about the history of Egypt and also Hurghada. The next stop was a small hill from where you had an overview of the city and where we were told more about the story. There was also an outlook on the further course of the tour. We continued to the Al Mina Mosque in the center of the city. This can be visited by guests when there are no prayer times, but this has been well adjusted in time by the tour guide. The mosque itself may only be entered by women wearing appropriate clothing, i.e. long robes and headgear. However, these can easily be borrowed at the entrance. Is free but of course you are also happy about a small donation there. In the mosque there was a lot to hear and see again. What you can mention here again that it has always noticed the Gamal, the guide had many details to report and for us also translated the inscriptions of the mosque into German. After visiting the mosque, the sunset set in so that the further way through the city on foot was no longer a problem. Passing the fish market, which also offered an interesting activity, we then went to the marina. There we could only enjoy the shops and restaurants as well as the partially beautifully lit boats at much more pleasant temperatures. In the restaurants you will find quite reasonable prices for a beautifully built and well maintained marina. Finally, we were able to see Sheraton Road, the bustling main street of the city. But only from the mini-bus as the children were already slowly very tired. As for the journey itself, you can say that despite rain traffic we never felt the driver would not bring us safely to our destination, but the traffic in Hurghada or other Egyptian cities takes some getting used to if you know it differently. For our part, we would like to do such a tour again on our next holiday in Hurghada, there are still enough other sights that would not all fit into one tour. Best regards, Family B.

Perfect half-day trip through Hurghada!
We took a city tour in Hurghada in the morning with a fantastic and relaxed private driver. The mosque, the fish market, the marina, old Hurghada, a nice coffee shop, beautiful views, it was all covered. For a half day, I would choose the morning (because otherwise it gets too hot), this is a perfect activity to get away from the resort!

Hurghada City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Hurghada City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hurghada City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Hurghada City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hurghada City Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hurghada City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Hurghada City Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hurghada City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
