Hoi An
Most tourists only scratch the surface of Hoi An’s food traditions; our 15+ taster tour dives into the culinary underbelly of the Ancient Town and the local village of Tra Que. Morning starts in the bustle of the market, hunting down the food heroes once championed by Anthony Bourdain - tossing chewy bánh bot loc dumplings in a flavorful broth. Next, we stop by Mr. Ly’s stall, he’s been up since the early hours crafting Vietnamese "wedding dumplings," delicately bundled in green banana leaves. From herby clam salad to steamy wonton soup, we're uncovering the bowls that have fed hungry locals for decades. Try the Hoi An original cao lâu noodles, whose ingredients were forged in the pestle and mortar of history, migrating here alongside the ambition of Chinese and Japanese mercantile trade.

Beyond the bridges, we escape to the nearby village of Tra Que, a 400-year-old community that breathes through its fresh herb and vegetable gardens. We’ve secured an exclusive invite to an organic farm for a hands-on masterclass in the disappearing art of traditional rice-paper making. Our hosts will fire up a farm-to-fork feast that includes sizzling bánh xèo pancakes and crispy watercress-prawn salads, among many more surprises.

Back in town, you’ll stand witness as the masters prepare the "White Rose"—delicate, flower-shaped dumplings that are the nod to a bygone era. This recipe has been a family secret for over a century; even now, generational chefs trek to the 1,000-year-old Bà Lê well to fetch the specific water required for the dough. Every tasting is a bite of the city’s DNA. Forget the guidebooks and navigate the backstreets with a guide who lives for the next great meal that celebrates Hoi An's culinary legacy.

Great food tour in Hoi An
Had a great tour with Leo, tried some great dishes and the visit to the farm was fun and not something I would have done on my own.

Great experience
Great tour, got to try so much good food, visited many places and our guide Andy was amazing! Probably one of the best tours you can get, as they have more dishes and places than most tours

Great food in Hoi An!
A really engaging and fun tour! Lots of places we wouldn’t have tired or known about ourselves.

Highly recommend
Such a cool, standout experience and variety of dishes. Thanks so much to our guide Quin; her local knowledge, passion, friendliness, & humour made the tour even more special. Amazing range of fresh local flavours, dishes, and locations that we would never have found or thought to try on our own. Having done a few Chefs Tours in different cities & countries now, Hoi An is a major highlight. Book it and arrive hungry 🤩!

Four hours of delicious and authentic Hoi An cuisine
We had an amazing tour guide with Quin! The food was incredible, PLENTIFUL (so stuffed), and she was a fun and knowledgeable guide! The tour included more dishes than I can remember and they were all authentic, Hoi An cuisine. There was a combination of walking as well as taking a tram ride (which we all loved for a breezy break from the heat) to visit herb and vegetable fields followed by a scenic stop on the river. I would absolutely recommend this tour and Quin as your guide! Come hungry!!!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Da Nang.
How much does Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings cost?
+
Prices start at $23 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Da Nang usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Da Nang is not rushed.
Is Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Da Nang, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Da Nang can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Da Nang and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hungry Hoi An Food Tour with 15+ Tastings start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Da Nang within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Da Nang?
+
On Outty we rank every Da Nang experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Golden Bridge and Ba Na Hills Small Group Tour, Marble Mountains - Am Phu Cave - Monkey Mountain Sunset tour, Lady Buddha, Marble Mountains, Coconut Jungle & Hoian City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Da Nang?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Da Nang?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
