What you'll see and do
Humantay Lake
We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco between 4pm and 5pm, from where we will start our adventure to the Humantay Lagoon with a 3.5 hour drive to Soraypampa, which is the starting point of the hike. In Soraypampa we will have a breakfast, before starting our trek. From Soraypampa we will start hiking up to the Humantay Lagoon (4200 m.a.s.l.) with beautiful views and if the sky is clear enough, we can see the impressive snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay mountain peaks. It is a 1.5 hour hike to the lagoon, and is more than worth it when you see the magical view. The hiking route ascend 80% of the way while the rest of the hike is plan. We will have enough time to take pictures and enjoy its beautiful surroundings. After some free time and a guided tour, we will start our descent to Soraypampa, which is a lot easier than the way up. In Soraypampa lunch is awaiting us and after some rest, we will return to Cusco where we will arrive around 5.30pm at Plaza Regocijo.

SCAM!! DO NOT BOOK!!!
This tour said it was in English and it was not. After our tour guide said the opening message to the group in Spanish, I was expecting it to be repeated in English and it was not. When I asked her to say it in English, she said, “my English is not so good.” When I messaged the tour operator about it they said she is bilingual. She is not bilingual. She didn’t tell us anything in English except that we had 30 minutes at the lake. The entire time we were in the dark about what we were doing. The other guests on the tour that actually were bilingual were more helpful than the guide. The driver drove recklessly the entire time. Passing on blind curves and double yellow lines, tailgating, at one point he hit something and had to get out and check the van. He was taking speed bumps so hard we flew up out of our seats. We were literally scared for our safety. We arrived back 1.5 hours early, which tells you how fast he was driving. And that we could have had more time at the lake. The breakfast was empty crusts of bread and one scrambled egg. The lunch was better but a few of the people couldn’t eat because they were so nauseous from the driver. When we got to the destination, we were using the toilet when the group left us. We had no idea where to go or what to do. We didn’t know which trail to follow as there were a few options. Humantay lake was absolutely beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there but it was not thanks to the tour company at all. She didn’t give us any information about the lake except the name of the mountain range behind the lake and showed us one of the stones that give it color. That was all the information we got. When I expressed my concerns to the company, they did not seem to care. All they said was the guide was bilingual. Which she obviously was not. This was essentially an expensive, dangerous cab ride with a terrible meal and a self guided tour.

Awsome experience
One of natures finest spot at 5,200 mtrs. The trek is a bit challenging but exciting, a must do excursion. The serenity and tranquility of the region gives a soothing effect to the trek. The trip organizers and the guide are professionals who are very supportive and helpful. Their knowledge of the region is immense. Everybody in the group was overwhelmed by the trek and the hospitality of the organizers.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour) cost?
+
Prices start at $57 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour) take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour) suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour)?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Humantay Lagoon - Full Day (Group Tour) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals, Excursion to Rainbow Mountain Full Day Optional Red Valley. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
