Terrible service

Booked hot air balloon ride, I was told not to worry, the driver would for sure pick us up from our cruise. Despite asking multiple times for a contact number in case of emergency, they refused to provide the hot air balloon company name or phone number. When it was time to meetup, nobody showed up or called us. we tried contacting Luxor Travels multiple times but they also wouldn’t answer. This whole experience ruined our whole day, I was looking forward to this experience for my birthday.

Response from the operator: Dear valued guest, First of all, we would like to sincerely apologize that your experience did not go as expected, especially as this was meant to be a special birthday celebration. We truly understand how disappointing this must have felt. However, we would like to clarify our side of the situation. The pick-up information provided to us listed your accommodation as Winter Palace Hotel. Based on this information, the hot air balloon company arranged pick-up from the hotel location accordingly. On the morning of the flight, the balloon team waited at Winter Palace Hotel for more than 30 minutes. They successfully collected other guests from the same hotel who enjoyed their balloon ride without any issue. Unfortunately, we were not informed that you were staying on a Nile cruise instead of the hotel mentioned in the booking details. Because of this misunderstanding regarding the pick-up location, the team was waiting at the wrong place. As soon as we became aware of the issue, we immediately arranged a full refund for the balloon ride, even though according to policy it was considered a no-show. We did this because your satisfaction is very important to us, and we genuinely did not want you to feel disappointed on such a special day. Regarding the contact details, we always coordinate directly with the balloon company to avoid confusion with multiple contacts, and our operations team remains responsible for handling all logistics. We regret if communication that morning did not meet your expectations, and we are reviewing this internally to prevent any similar situation in the future. We truly value all our guests and would have loved the opportunity to make this right during your stay. Great day out

Our tour guide Ragab and driver Ramadan did a great job of bringing us around and sharing interesting bits of history, matched our family's laid back energy and was flexible with rearranging the order of the tour locations when we got tired. It was fun and well facilitated

Balloon Ride and Luxor Tour

The entire tour was very well executed! From the balloon ride to the visit to the Valley of King's it was very enjoyable and our tour guide Garap (I hope I am spelling that right) was a wealth of information on the sites! Would definitely recommend!

Best day ever...Luxor Museum, Luxor Temple, and Karnak Temple

Still smiling from our experience with guide Mansour Hussain. Thank you, Luxor Travels! First, it is helpful to know that Mansour graduated from a four-year collegiate Egyptologist and tour guide program. We were picked up by Mansour and Hassan (our friendly and excellent driver who also provided transport in a immaculate van from the Luxor Airport and from Luxor to Hurghada) at our hotel. Luxor Travels included all entrance tickets. The first stop was the Luxor Museum. This is world-class facility and Mansour told the story behind each piece...literally. It was fascinating to learn about the stories of the pharaohs, gods, and others represented...even more so than what we learned at the Valley of the Kings. Here's a fun fact: Mansour knows how to read hieroglyphics. By the end of our day together, even we were recognizing words, symbols, and gods. The second stop was the Luxor Temple. We simply were not prepared for the grandeur and overwhelming sense of history. Mansour explained many details. It was clear that we were getting a deeper look into the significance and history, compared to those who were in a large group tour. The final stop of the day was at Karnak Temple. If you can only make one stop in Luxor, let this be it. And of course, it's best if you have a guide like Mansour to make the Karnak Temple come alive! It was fascinating to learn how each pharaoh created their own additions to the Temple. Personalities were often evident by the art and architecture, as pointed out by our guide. We were lucky enough to see some restoration taking place at Karnak Temple. In fact, one column was draped and plasters being taken by workers. Mansour noted that he had been in the Temple only a few days previous and that this was new activity. We especially appreciated that he took us to areas of the Temple that were less visited, but quite beautiful and interesting. Mansour helped us understand the different rulers and eras, from the ancient Egyptian through the 22nd dynasty, then onto the Greek, Roman, and Coptic Christian. All of these cultural influences were represented at the Karnak Temple (and Luxor Temple), but we surely would have missed these treasures if it were not for Mansour. We had about a million questions, asking some twice or more, however Mansour was always ready to answer patiently. Only once did he not have a ready answer, but enthusiastically replied that he was going to take time to research it. Thank you, Luxor Travels, Mansour, and Hassam for memories that will last a lifetime!
