Great view and even better service

Whole experience was great! Once in a lifetime experience and truly unforgettable not only because of the gorgeous view but also the service was impeccable. Our captain, Jovanny, was amazing and explained some history as well as Leonardo who checked us in we’re so helpful. Would do again.

Response from the operator: Thank you.

Wonderful way to see Teotihuacan from above, with lots of other hot air balloons as a bonus.

This was an excellent experience. The balloon's gondola held four people and the pilot (Gabriel, who was outstanding). The view of the pyramids was superb. The entire operation was very professional. Communication with the company was prompt, courteous, and seamless. I would recommend this to anyone!

Amazing experience

Nice people, safe, and amazing. I’m from New York and I was a little worried because I’ve heard other companies have had issues but this place was amazing. They are well organized, certified, and professional.

Don’t expect anything but sadness

I was scheduled for a 4:40am pickup from a lovely hotel where I stayed. After waiting for 30 minutes, I asked the hotel front desk to find out what happened. They let me know the driver was on the way. I waited an hour. What they sent was an uber because the driver forgot to pick me up. How crazy, stupid and or insane would a single woman have to be to get into an uber (not clocked on my phone) and drive for an hour outside of Mexico City to an unknown location? I would have been 100% untraceable should something have happened. If I called the uber, at least the trip would have been recorded on my uber account. The idea that this was okay is absolutely unacceptable. This would be dangerous and I’m surprised that the hotel was going along with this. Further, because I had not packed for this activity, I bought a coat and shoes specifically for this morning. This was a VERY expensive adventure not taken. I had an idea that a three trip to CDMX would be an adventure. This morning convinced me that was not a good idea.

Response from the operator: I'm absolutely appalled and sorry to hear about the experience you had with our transportation service. Forgetting to pick you up is unacceptable, and suggesting an Uber as a replacement is completely irresponsible. We take the safety and security of our clients very seriously, and what happened is a clear breach of our protocols. I can't imagine how frustrating and scary it must have been for you, especially as a solo female traveler. Please know that we're taking immediate action to investigate and ensure this doesn't happen again. Your safety is our top priority. We'd also like to offer a discount on any future bookings with us. We value your feedback and hope you'll give us another chance to show you the level of service you deserve. Please let us know how we can make things right. Best regards.

Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast cost?

+

Prices start at $3550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 111 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast?

+

Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hot Air Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
