What you'll see and do
Horseback riding to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate in a mixed group begins with a 4:30 am hotel pick-up in Cusco. We travel to Pacchanta (4,100 m / 13,451 ft), at the foot of the majestic Ausangate Mountain, where a warm buffet breakfast prepared by local families awaits us. After breakfast, the guide organizes the horses and provides a brief explanation of the route and safety guidelines. This tour operates as a group service, with both hikers and horseback riders. Since horseback riders may move faster than hikers, designated meeting points are established along the route where the group will regroup. This allows everyone to enjoy the experience at their own pace while ensuring that the entire group stays organized and safe throughout the journey. We explore the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, surrounded by dazzling turquoise waters, majestic glaciers, and towering snow-capped peaks. A breathtaking journey through one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Peruvian Andes.

After plenty of time for photos and to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery, we ride or walk back to Pacchanta, where a delicious buffet lunch featuring traditional Andean dishes will be waiting for us. After lunch, you will have approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to relax in the Pacchanta hot springs, naturally heated by the thermal activity of Ausangate. These mineral-rich waters are perfect for soothing your muscles while admiring the impressive mountain views. Since the horseback experience is more relaxed and less physically demanding, travelers usually have more time to unwind, soak comfortably, and enjoy the peaceful Andean atmosphere. After enjoying the hot springs, we return to Cusco in our tourist bus, with an approximate 3-hour journey. The tour officially ends at Plaza Regocijo, located just one block from the main square of Cusco.

How far in advance should I book Horseback Riding In Ausangate 7 Lakes Full-Day In Group?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+

What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
