Fantastic and Scenic Experience
We did the horseback riding. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable and horses were well taken care of. He provided expert advice on the volcano, local wildlife. Trails are good and offered excellent views of the volcano. The restaurant there is also not mediocre and the facilities are modern and comfortable for tourists. Staff was also very warm and friendly. Overall no complaints and worth it.

Best excursion of my whole life!
Best experience of my life! This is not just a trail ride, there was freedom to actually ride your horse and the guide was absolutely amazing! He made adjustments in the beginning to make sure we were riding correctly and once we were comfortable he let us ride! The break along the jungle stream with the volcano masks was once in a lifetime! ALL the fresh fruit of the area and the guide was so kind to us and gave us the best experience. Told us history and showed us nature along the way. I can’t say enough about this once in a lifetime experience. So happy, this made our whole trip :)

Pristine routes with lots of anima seeing!
This is definitely the highlight of our trip! We found this trip at last minute, but since this tour is new, it offers a very pristine route under the volcano. The clay musk is also fun. Our guide Marco is very knowledgeable and spots Tucans, sloths, monkeys, Montezuma, the laughing falcon, turkeys and so on - even more than what we saw on the bird tour; we really love it and would like come back!

Absolute Magic
This was the best day of my life. I hope I don’t get his name wrong but I think our guides name was Carlos. These horses are SO healthy, SO well trained, Carlos made the tour incredibly informative and he was a pleasure to be with! My husband doesn’t enjoy fast riding and his horse was easy to maintain and took a slower leisurely ride through the rainforest and through the fields with clear views of the stunning volcano. Great for beginners and family’s. Now - I like to ride. Fast. And my horse knew this path, made me feel safe - her name was Pinta and she gave me the ride of my life! Perfect weather, amazing trails but really all the credit goes to the horse, I was just along for the magic. Bucket list worthy and I WILL be back! Also, the stop at the beautiful creek with fresh fruit & the FROM THE GROUND volcanic mud mask that you can use if you want or pass on (I personally covered myself with it) - very cool stop! Perfect time for a break and the scenery is breathtaking. Thanks again, Carlos, best day ever!!!

Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Fortuna.
How much does Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal cost?
+
Prices start at $73 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Fortuna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Fortuna is not rushed.
Is Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Fortuna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Fortuna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Fortuna and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Horseback Riding and Wellness Ride and Clay Mask in Arenal start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Fortuna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in La Fortuna?
+
On Outty we rank every La Fortuna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Upper Balsa River White Water Rafting Class 3/4 in Costa Rica, North Fields Cafe: Craft Specialty Coffee and Chocolate Tour, Canyoning Adventure Rappelling Waterfalls in Arenal Volcano. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit La Fortuna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in La Fortuna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
