Decent but veryyyyy rushed
Went today to experience what Punta Cana had to offer via off-road adventures. After reviewing many options, we were saddened to see that the only opportunity that was time-consuming was the incredibly over priced coffee and chocolates (coming from the states, we know prices very well). We were more than punctual, and we were rushed through each excursion. The longest excursion was where we ended up spending the most money on coffee, tea, chocolate and the famous local Mamajuana. The actual excursions felt like photo opportunities. The cave diving- 15 minutes max, the beach, 20 minutes maybe. As a well traveled individual, I felt like I made the wrong decision for choosing this specific place. However, every stop was a "must see" to get to know local economy and learn the culture, but we spent most of the time learning how to negotiate prices. Given this, staff was amazing and helpful and we had a great time, but would definitely choose a longer trip because 2.5 hours semeed like 10 minutes per stop (I have time stamps from photos ). I would recommend a place that allows for more time and less " smile for the camera". This is my 5th time to the DR and I haven't had such "less time" than ever. Also- as having decades of experience as an off -road driver, the buggy wheel was not aligned well, could not drive fast and when providing feedback, was brushed off. Good luck whoever has my buggy in the future
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found our staff amazing and helpful and that you still had a great time during your visit. We’re sorry to hear that the pace of the excursion did not meet your expectations. Our experience is designed as a combination of several stops, including the cave, Macao Beach, and the local tasting experience, so guests can see different parts of the area and experience some aspects of Dominican culture and local life. We understand, however, that you would have preferred spending more time at each location rather than visiting multiple stops. Regarding the coffee, chocolate, and Mamajuana tasting, these are opportunities to learn about and taste local products. We’re sorry if you felt pressured to spend money. Purchasing additional products is not required to participate in the excursion. We also take your feedback about the buggy seriously. The safety and condition of our vehicles are very important to us, and we will review the buggy you used, including the wheel alignment, with our team. We truly appreciate your feedback, especially from someone with extensive off-road driving experience. We will use your comments to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you again for choosing us and for recognizing the effort of our staff.

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach cost?
+
Prices start at $77 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 723 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach?
+
Around 253 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Horseback Riding and ATV or Buggy to Water Cave and Macao Beach start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
