A waste of an entire day
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We booked this tour hoping to enjoy seeing Los Angeles, but it was 105 degrees outside and the tour was conducted in a church van that became extremely uncomfortable and made several of us carsick. Because of the heat and how sick we were feeling, we ultimately had to get off the tour. What made the experience even worse was the way the tour guide responded. Rather than showing any understanding or concern, he was rude and dismissive about our decision to leave. At one point, he told us, “You won’t get this tour in an Uber,” which felt incredibly condescending and unnecessary. We were simply trying to take care of ourselves after becoming sick. He also mentioned that he had just taken a group of people who were sick from a cruise ship on a tour and that our tour had started an hour and a half late. Given that he knew he had recently had sick passengers, it was especially disappointing that there seemed to be so little concern or empathy when members of our group became sick as well. We completely understand that the tour company cannot control the weather, and we knew we were booking a van tour. However, when it is 105 degrees outside and guests are becoming genuinely carsick and uncomfortable, we expected at least some basic courtesy and understanding. Instead, we felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience for choosing to get off the tour. The guide’s attitude completely overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable way to see Los Angeles. It also ruined our entire day starting an hour and a half late. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this tour.

Loved every minute
This is our first time in L.A. So we decided to do the whole tourist bus tour thing. Our driver and tour guide was excellent. Both humorous and very knowledgeable. He made the trip engaging and a real pleasure. We are staying in Malibu with a friend who has a star on the Walk of Fame but that didn’t stop us enjoying this fun and informative trip. The price was also good value for money. $40 per person plus a tip. G&J London UK.

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.
How much does Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.
Is Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 360 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip?
+
Around 126 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hollywood Stars Tour: Walk of Fame, Celebrity Homes, Sunset Strip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?
+
Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Griffith Observatory Hike: Guided Tour through Griffith Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?
+
March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Los Angeles?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
