Great way to see Vietnamese craft and culture

This tour was originally going to be on bicycles but it was very hot so a tuk tuk was organised for us. We went to a rice noodle kitchen and made rice noodles, a wood carving shop- where we carved our own key chain- watched weaving, saw incense being made, and visited an amazing organic community farm. Fantastic. We then got a lesson on cooking Vietnamese pancakes and enjoyed a lunch made from all local organic ingredients. Our tour guide was great, too. Highly recommend this tour.

The best way to experience Hoi An!

Had a private bike tour of Hoi A despite the rain- we had a really great time! We saw a lot of local gems and got to understand the culture and food. Really enjoyed getting to make rice cakes/noodles and learning to carve wood, weave baskets, make silk, weave rugs.

An Authentic Hoi An Experience

Today my wife and I spent our last day in Hoi An on an amazing bike tour through the local countryside. We got to learn about and experience rice wine and how it is made. Make woven mats with the locals, and get hands in with a local wood carver. This experience far exceeded my expectations and we had the best guide in Tin Tin. She had great local knowledge and was very friendly. For those wanting an authentic cultural experience, this tour is for you. Highly recommend Tin Tin as your guide if you can manage to book with her.

One of the best local tours we have ever been on - You will see some very unique and interesting sights

We started off the day with Nancy and her friend at their office in Hoi An. We wanted to do something a little different, having been to Hoi An before. Well we struck gold with this one. We were all designated a bike and ready for the day's activity - starting at 8am. Although the start time is early, believe us, it's a great idea because it gets a bit hot and steamy at this time of the year. So we all headed off down to the dock to load and bikes and ourselves onto a little boat that took us across to Cam Kim Island. It is such a quaint and enchanting little island away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We were introduced to a number of families who for generations have been doing the same craft and continue to do so in the interest of keeping skills alive. It made us appreciate that, when you haggle and try to get vendors down to really cheap prices, that maybe you are having an effect on these families who are the true craftsmen (and women). We met some boat makers, rice paper/noodle makers, wood carvers, woven mats producers and the highlight was a visit to a local kindergarten. As if that wasn't enough, we then journeyed back to Hoi An and went into central market to enjoy a local rice noodle dish that was absolutely amazing. The group we toured with were a mixture from the USA, France, The Netherlands and us Aussies. It should be noted that Nancy conducts her tours very professionally. She tries to converse with all members of the group and her presentations are so incredibly interesting with lots of information that you just couldn't get to know all by yourself. It was a truly fabulous experience and we would DEFINITELY go on a tour with this group any day of the week. It was incredibly good value for money and we really enjoyed our half day out with these lovely girls. Highlight of the day: There was a lady at the rice noodle site who was 88 years old. She was absolutely amazing and was down on her haunches going about her business as if she was 21!

A taste of local life

I really enjoyed this tour, especially riding down the village streets, a visit to the school and the food. You spend a lot of time with the locals so there is not too much riding. Nancy was our guide on the tour and was full of information about local life. Get away from the tourist strip and experience the real Hoi An.

Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hoi An.

How much does Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village cost?

+

Prices start at $22 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hoi An usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hoi An is not rushed.

Is Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hoi An, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hoi An can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hoi An and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hoi An Countryside bike tour to Kim Bong village start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hoi An within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hoi An?

+

On Outty we rank every Hoi An experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HOI AN Hidden Gems in Rural Villages & River Islands PRIVATE TOUR, Coconut Jungle Eco & Hoi An City Tour With Boat Ride, Cooking Class Hoi An:Local Market, Basket Boat, Fishing & Cooking. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hoi An?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hoi An?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
