    Fun & Informative!

Our tour guide Manouk was absolutely fantastic! We are a family of four, my daughter is 22 and my son is 17, and Manouk was able to balance all of our interests to tailor the tour to us and deliver the information in a way that was very enjoyable while also being easily processed in the moment. She also gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do, and overall gave us a new perspective on the city.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was such a pleasure meeting your family, and I'm so happy to hear you all enjoyed the tour. I loved showing you around and am glad I could tailor the tour to your interests and make it enjoyable for everyone. :-) I hope you had a fantastic rest of your stay! Warm regards, Manouk

Personal and authentic tour! Top afternoon

Last Friday I did the city tour at Manouk. The walk through the center feels very personal and authentic. Manouk tells the stories very vividly and you learn facts that you hadn't thought of yourself. In addition, the tour is also well organized in terms of time and bores the total. For this I did the Red Light District tour once which was also very popular. Thanks for the excellent afternoon!

😉 Groetjes, Manouk

    Super educational walk

Last Friday I did the city walking experience and I am positively surprised! Although I already know a thing or two about Amsterdam, I have heard many new and interesting stories. Manouk tells in a fun way, which keeps you captivated. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn something new!

Response from the operator: Hi Alexandra, Bedankt voor de mooie review! Leuk om te horen dat je nieuwe dingen hebt geleerd onderweg, dat laat je weer anders naar de stad kijken. Gezellig dat jullie mee waren, altijd welkom in een van de andere tours. Groetjes, Manouk

Great Amsterdam walking tour with Manouk

We did this walking tour on the last day that we were in Amsterdam. A lot of the questions that we had about landmarks and areas of the city that we had seen before the tour were answered by our guide, Manouk! She is very knowledgeable and personable. The tour itself was just the right length of time, and the information provided about the sites we covered on the tour gave me great context that I didn’t have before about the city. I recommend this tour with Manouk for first-timers to the city who are curious about what makes it special.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! I'm really happy to hear the tour added some extra context to your time in Amsterdam. :-) It was great spending time with you and hope to see you again. Wishing you all the best on your next adventures! Warm regards, Manouk

    Great tour of Amsterdam

We opted for a private tour, Manouk was our wonderful guide. She tailored the tour to fit us. Manouk gave us a fantastic tour of Amsterdam. Very informative, lots of history gave us a good insight on what Amsterdam is like today and there is a thoughtful treat at the end.

Response from the operator: Dear Lisa, Thank you so much for this lovely review! It was such a pleasure to guide you and shape the tour just for you. I’m really glad you enjoyed the mix of history, today’s city vibes, and the little treat at the end! Enjoy the rest of your trip and hope to see you again one day! Warm regards, Manouk

History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does History & culture tour in Amsterdam with a local start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
