What you'll see and do
Hiroshima has two cruise ship ports (Ujina and Itsukaichi), and I will pick you up at the correct one. The official cruise ship schedule provided by Hiroshima Prefecture will be checked in advance to ensure we meet at the right port. The order of visiting Miyajima (Hatsukaichi City) and the Hiroshima city center will be arranged flexibly based on your schedule, the weather, and any other circumstances on the day.
10 minutes here
After a 40–50 minute drive, we will park near the ferry terminal and enjoy a short 10‑minute ferry ride to Miyajima. Since the island has very limited parking and the road conditions are not ideal for cars, we do not cross to the island by vehicle.
20 minutes here
Itsukushima Shrine Torii
While walking toward Itsukushima Shrine, the iconic Great Torii gate gradually comes into sight. You can enjoy the surroundings and take photos as we approach.
15 minutes here
We will continue on to Itsukushima Shrine, Japan’s only shrine built over the water. As we walk through its graceful corridors, your guide will explain the history and features of the site, and you can enjoy taking photos or purchasing charms along the way.
40 minutes here · Admission included
We will then visit Daishoin Temple, one of the most beautiful and atmospheric places on Miyajima. The temple grounds are filled with unique statues with expressive faces and poses, along with peaceful pathways that create a calm and spiritual atmosphere. Visiting the temple is optional, as there is a long staircase. If you prefer not to climb the stairs or would rather skip the temple visit, we can simply spend more time at other stops—such as trying local food, shopping, or staying longer at the Peace Memorial Museum. The plan can be easily adjusted to your interests.
40 minutes here
Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street
We will spend a fun time strolling along the shopping street, enjoying local food and drinks and browsing for souvenirs. Lunch I will explain Hiroshima’s local specialty foods during the tour. If you would like to sit down at a restaurant and enjoy Hiroshima’s famous dishes, please let me know in advance so I can secure enough time for lunch. You are also very welcome to enjoy a light “food‑walking” style and try small bites along the way.
60 minutes here
Hypocenter monument
We will take the ferry back to the mainland, with the ferry ride and drive taking roughly one hour in total, before arriving in Hiroshima City. After parking the car nearby, our walking tour will begin at the Hiroshima A‑bomb Hypocenter.
10 minutes here
Atomic Bomb Dome
At the Atomic Bomb Dome, we will spend some quiet time reflecting on Hiroshima’s history and the significance of this landmark.
10 minutes here
Children's Peace Monument
Your guide will share the stories and significance of the memorials and monuments as we explore Peace Memorial Park together.
20 minutes here
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Our final stop will be the Peace Memorial Museum, a quiet and reflective space where conversations are kept to a minimum. Since all exhibits are displayed in both Japanese and English, you will explore the museum on your own after I scan the QR code of the ticket I have reserved for you at the entrance. If you prefer an audio guide in another language, I can assist you in renting one. (Audio guides are not included in the tour price.)
80 minutes here · Admission included
We will return to the port where your ship is docked. On the way back, we can spend some time talking about your visit and any thoughts you’d like to share. If you still have a lot of time before your ship departs, you may also choose to end the tour in front of the museum and return to the port on your own by taxi or other transportation. (Taxi fares are not included in the tour price.) I will plan the itinerary according to your preferences, including your preferred ending point.

An Unforgettable, Seamless Day in Hiroshima with Tomoyo!
Visiting Hiroshima was a deeply meaningful part of our trip, and having Tomoyo as our guide made the experience absolute perfection. She guided us through the Peace Memorial Park and local shrines with so much grace, depth, and local insight. Tomoyo took care of every single detail, making our entire day feel smooth, effortless, and wonderfully memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better host to share Hiroshima with us—we highly recommend booking a tour with Tomoyo!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful review so quickly. Today was a beautiful sunny day, and the tide was at just the right height to enjoy a perfect view of the shrine. After visiting Itsukushima Shrine, we headed up to Daishoin, and walking together through the pitch‑dark training corridor for monks felt like a fun little adventure. You also chose beautiful chopsticks for your family, which will make such a lovely gift. I was happy to hear you enjoyed okonomiyaki and momiji manju as well. I’m truly glad I could guide you today, and I had such a fun day with both of you. Wishing you a continued joyful journey together. Tomoyo

Private car tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima
Excellent, knew all the information very kind and attentive we had an amazing experience with her !!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a beautiful sunny day, and on Miyajima you captured wonderful photos with the bright vermilion of the shrine contrasting against the blue sky. Thank you for sharing them with me on WhatsApp. I truly enjoyed our conversations; you are very knowledgeable about history, and talking together about Hiroshima’s past as well as hearing the history of your own country was fascinating. Your personalized chopsticks for your family were such a thoughtful choice, and I’m sure they will be delighted. Wishing you a continued wonderful journey. Tomoyo

Fantastic day out in Hiroshima from cruise terminal
A really enjoyable trip organised by Tomoyo. A lot was packed into the time we had even an extra unexpected but really appreciated visit to a traditional garden. We were picked up promptly at the port and Tomoyo had given clear instructions as to where to meet. We kept to the itinerary but were able to also do things we would have been reluctant to do on our own. We tried street food and ate konomiyaki in a lovely local restaurant. Tomoyo answered all our questions with extremely good English. Tomoyo is a very careful driver dropping us off in all the prime spots and rejoining us promptly when she had parked her car. Everything was clearly explained . We would highly recommend her to enrich your time in Hiroshima.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful review so quickly. It truly made me happy. We enjoyed so many “must‑do” Hiroshima experiences together — eating okonomiyaki, trying momiji‑manju, and choosing omamori (good luck charm). The cheese and seafood okonomiyaki you picked was really delicious. I loved chatting with you about history, our countries, and our families as we explored Hiroshima. Because your cruise ship stayed overnight and you had already visited the Peace Park the day before, I was glad we could adjust the plan and visit the Japanese garden and also stop by Hiroshima Castle briefly for photos. I was very happy that you spent two days in Hiroshima and were able to get to know the city more deeply. Thank you again! Tomoyo

Hirosjima excursion
Tomoyo was fantastic. Fluent English, punctual, great personality and highly knowledgeable, great sense of humor. You learn so much from a private guide, instant answers and a translator as a bonus. This fantastic excursion will always be remembered, thanks Tomoyo.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I truly enjoyed spending the day with both of you. Since you wanted to eat sashimi, I took you to Kura Sushi along our driving route, and I’m glad it looked like a fun stop for you. At Miyajima Brewery, I liked hearing your stories while you had the local beer. When you ordered your drink and kindly asked, “Do you want one too?” it made me smile — I’m the driver, so I can’t drink during tours, but I really appreciated your kindness. Because you’re interested in religion, I took you to Daishō‑in, the oldest temple on Miyajima. I especially remember how much you appreciated the different Jizō statues. Wishing you both a continued wonderful journey. Thank you so much!!

Hiroshima tour
Tomoyo was excellent. Her English was great. She was easily understood and quick to please. Great knowledge of culture and history. The weather in Hiroshima was very rainy. Tomoyo adjusted the schedule to accommodate the weather situation and our mobility issues.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review. Even though it was a rainy day, we still had fun eating momiji manju and okonomiyaki, and you picked out a cool T‑shirt and a cute deer‑in‑kimono strap. I’m really glad I could help you enjoy Hiroshima comfortably, even with the weather and mobility challenges. You two were so kind and warm to me, and because of that I also felt relaxed and had a wonderful time guiding you. I always do my best to adjust the plan and keep walking distances as short as possible. Since your family has visited Japan many times, I hope you’ll come to Japan again. I look forward to seeing you again someday. Tomoyo

Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hiroshima.
How much does Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car cost?
+
Prices start at $235 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hiroshima usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hiroshima is not rushed.
Is Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hiroshima, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hiroshima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hiroshima and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hiroshima Cruise Pickup Miyajima and Peace Park Tour with Car start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hiroshima within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hiroshima?
+
On Outty we rank every Hiroshima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Peaceful Hiroshima & Miyajima UNESCO 1 Day Bus Tour, Hiroshima Peace (Heiwa) Walking Tour at World Heritage Sites, Hiroshima and Miyajima Day Trip with Itsukushima Shrine & Ferry. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hiroshima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hiroshima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
