Unlimited Bike Rentals avoid at all costs
This was possibly the worst experience I have had ever. We arrived at the location given no signs or any indication of a business. We did notice some bikes in an old store front so we walked up but it was locked. No signs no indication of any life. We called the Viator contact and was redirected to a switch board for the business. The operator said their employee was out making a delivery. We waited. He showed up 15 minutes later and checked us in. He said he needed to keep my license until we returned the bikes, I laughed and said just take a picture. He said it was policy. I was ready to walk out but he took a picture and gave me my license back. I should have aborted then. We got our e-bikes and dirty broken helmets. He said my wife’s bike was good but mine may cut out of if I hit a bump? I said I would like another bike. He said they were all broken or not charged. The store was full. I reluctantly took the bike and made it 75 feet and it shut off. I tried to reset the computer but nothing. I walked the bike back and he banged on the computer and said it should be good to go. I said I wanted another bike, he said he had nothing but went into a back room and brought out a bike that looked like it was underwater. The. Chain was so rusted it was solid. He came out with a quart of motor oil and dumped it on the chain and attempted to resurrect this rusted mess. I said are you kidding me? He said the first bike should be good now that he slapped it around. I didn’t want to ruin my wife’s day so I agreed again. He said call the number on the slip if I have any problems and he would bring out the fully charged good bike in the showroom. Well I didn’t make it about two miles until it died. I tried calling the number and no answer. I reset the computer and headed back to the store and made it 100 feet. I called again and got the switchboard again. The operator said he must of stepped out. I rode the bike back with no assist. Now two hours in and the store was locked up tight. I called the switch board again and they said he was five minutes away and that I needed to wait with the bikes or I was responsible if they got stolen. 30 minutes later and two phone calls he.came walking down the street. NEEDLESS TO SAY SO NOT EVER USE THE LOCATION. Awful experience and shame on the parent company for putting a person in a position they clearly can’t handle. He would not look me in the eyes and never apologized. I was direct but not rude to him.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the experience you had during your electric bike rental. This is not the level of service or equipment quality we aim to provide for our guests. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with the bike, the delays, and the lack of communication during your rental. A reliable and safe bike is essential for enjoying Hilton Head Island, and we understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with repeated equipment problems instead of being able to enjoy your ride. We are taking your feedback seriously and will be reviewing this situation with the local team to address the concerns raised regarding bike maintenance, customer service, and the overall rental process. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention and apologize again for the inconvenience. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.

Fantastic experience renting from Unlimited Biking
We had a fantastic experience renting from Unlimited Biking on Hilton Head Island! The electric bikes made it so easy and fun to explore, and even my 12-year-old was able to ride comfortably all day. We covered so many miles cruising up and down Hwy 278 and really got to enjoy the area in a unique way. There were a couple small drawbacks — it was a bit difficult to find the location since there wasn’t much signage, and the employee who helped us seemed very new. That said, he was still incredibly friendly, responsive, and did his best to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a fun way to explore Hilton Head!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a fantastic time exploring Hilton Head Island with our electric bikes and that your family, including your 12-year-old, enjoyed the ride so comfortably. We also really appreciate you pointing out the areas where we can improve. Your comments about the signage and the pickup experience are very helpful, and we’ll make sure to share them with the local team as we continue working to make the rental process smoother and more welcoming from the start. It means a lot to hear that, despite those small challenges, our team member was friendly, responsive, and committed to helping you have a great day. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another ride soon!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hilton Head Island.
How much does Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hilton Head Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hilton Head Island is not rushed.
Is Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hilton Head Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hilton Head Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hilton Head Island and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hilton Head Island Electric Bike Rentals start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hilton Head Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hilton Head Island?
+
Hilton Head sells dolphin and sunset cruises out of Broad Creek, kayak and boat trips through Lowcountry salt marsh, bike rentals for the island trail network and shrimping demonstrations. On Outty we rank every Hilton Head Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Hilton Head Guided Kayak Nature Tour, Hilton Head Island Dolphin Boat Cruise, Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?
+
March to May and September to November, warm without peak summer crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hilton Head Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
