Hiking, empanadas and winery
We had a great day, hiking in Cascada de las animas in the foothills of Andes, had a great lunch of traditional Chilean food, stopped at San Alfonso and San Jose, and ended with a visit to the winery. Super easy communication with Francesca who helped us customize the day to our interests.
Response from the operator: Hi, We are really happy you enjoyed your day! We really enjoy tailoring tours to our clients' needs and knowing you had a great time just means the world, thanks!!

Memorable hike, delicious lunch, knowledgeable guide
Constanza (Connie) provided a memorable day for us… a scenic and manageable hike followed by a delicious picnic lunch. We can heartily recommend this trip and would do it again if we return to Santiago.

Operator cancelled the trip in last minute
We spent a lot of time planning for this hiking tour and were really looking forward to it. We were really disappointed when the local operator canceled the tour in the last minute (the night before the tour starting date).
Response from the operator: Dear Xiaojing, We deeply regret the disappointment you experienced during your recent visit, and we extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, our guide unexpectedly fell ill, leaving us unable to secure a replacement at such short notice. We offered to upgrade your tour experience by inviting you to join our Observatory tour in the evening. Unfortunately, this option did not align with your preferences. Accordingly, a refund has been promptly issued to you. We understand your disappointment, however we think we did not deserve this review. We have explained to you what happened, offered you an upgrade and when you declined, we issued a prompt refund. Therefore we would respectfully urge reconsideration of your review. We strive to provide an excellent service, and after all we are all human (still) and can fall ill. Warm regards, Suzanne

Wonderful experience!
What an incredible experience! The driver was wonderful, guide Absolutely a joy to be with and great at providing hospitality, knowledge, and fun to the experience. They underplay their lunch that is included- it was GOURMET! Had all the Chilean fixings and we all absolutely enjoyed our last day in Santiago. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone.

Hiking with Gaston
It was interesting to see the city as we drove through the financial area and Los Condas on our way up to the Park. The drive is winding and mountain hugging and at times the switch backs are very sharp but Gaston did a great job . The hike to the waterfall was more challenging than we had understood it would be. More climbing than expected for several in our party. For regular hikers it would be easy as it is not long but not for those looking for a light hike.. Especially on a hot cloudless day. Bring lots of water. Gaston was very attentive to those who were finding it difficult. The meat, cheese and bread picnic under the trees by the water was relaxing. We added the los Domingos market to the end of our trip . It was huge , in a lovely weaving layout , with places to eat and some very nice crafts mixed in with the usual tourist fare.
Response from the operator: Dear Faye Thank you for kind words. Referring to our private correspondence, our tours are always tailored to our clients and their level of fitness. Gaston did his utmost best to accommodate the very fit people in our private group and the one person that was less mobile. If all people in one group agree on what type of hike they would like it is easier for our guides :-) Nevertheless I hope you enjoyed the mighty South American Andes Mountains, the fresh air and the picnic :-) ! Please reach out to us again for a next adventure in Chile! Warm regards Suzanne.

Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.
How much does Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago cost?
+
Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago take?
+
Plan for about 30 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.
Is Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 30-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 30-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hiking Tour in the Andes Mountains - Half Day Trip from Santiago start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santiago?
+
On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santiago?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santiago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
