Great experience!

My dad and I went on a walking tour with Albert and absolutely loved it. His enthusiasm is contagious, i never knew i was so into birds 😅 he is a great spotter, can identify any animal from miles away and is a walking encyclopedia for the region. Next time im in Monteverde i will definitely contact this company again!

Amazing and Knowledgeable Guides

Elbert was our guide and he was wonderful! Patient, very knowledgeable, great with our 10 year old. He could identify the sound and show us what we were looking for. He knew the flora and fauna and history of the land as well. He was great with helping us capture some great photos too! We did the Curi-Cancha tour and then booked him to take us through the Children’s Eternal Forest. We had an unbelievable experience while there with the Bell Bird. He accommodated us and surprised us when we asked what we were going to look into the scope. Hands down would book him the next time we come to CR.

Family friendly

Her family booked a night walk and Curi Cancha hiking tour with Elbert. He was patient and attentive with our young children (5 and 7) and very skilled at his craft (over 20 years of experience). Our kids were fascinated when we spotted a green viper during the night walk.He is also 100% fluent in English. Come prepared for rain and bring some good hiking shoes.I highly recommend booking a tour with Three Brothers!

10/10 would recommend

We absolutely loved our tour today. Our guide Mauricio was so knowledgeable and friendly. He also had excellent English. We wanted to go bird watching and he took us around the reserve and we saw an abundance of birds. He also just knew loads about nature and everything else around us. He had a telescope and got to take some amazing pictures through it with my phone. Would 100% recommend. We booked through their own website and it was all a very easy process. 10/10 tour.

A wonderful way to experience Curi-Cancha

Our hike in Curi-Cancha would have been completely different (and way less interesting) if we hadn't booked this guide. We learned so many fascinating things, and my two tweens especially loved looking through the scope that our guide brought at all the birds and animals he was able to spot during the three hours we spent with him. Overall, a wonderful way to spend our morning in Curi-Cancha.

Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Monteverde.

How much does Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve cost?

+

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Monteverde usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Monteverde is not rushed.

Is Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 70 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Monteverde, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve?

+

Around 25 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Monteverde can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Monteverde and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hiking to Curi-Cancha Reserve start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Monteverde within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Monteverde?

+

On Outty we rank every Monteverde experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Original Canopy Tour Monteverde, Zipline, Coffee, Chocolate & Sugar Cane Tour (Regular), Monteverde Cloud Forest Guided Nature Walk with Expert Naturalist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Monteverde?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Monteverde?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
