    Enjoyed the hike with Laszlo

I extremely enjoyed this nature hike very close to Budapest city. The hike is relatively a easy hike. Laszlo is very passionate hiking guide and that came out loud and clear during the hike. He has good knowledge and he shared all details about the surroundings and more during the hike. It was a good experience overall and in particular with Laszlo .

Best of Budapest - trails and views

This was the perfect way to get out of the city center and explore more of Budapest. Laszlo was the most wonderful guide, he was simply the best & so knowledgeable about Budapest as well as all the flora and fauna! So many moments were so beautiful and Laszlo made sure we saw them all, even helping us get the best photo. The meeting spot was central and easy to find and then we hopped on a bus out of the main city center. The hike was a good distance but not too strenuous. We spent about 4 hours with stops for snacks and water, which was perfect. Laszlo is the ultimate guide, so knowledgeable. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone interested in a change of pace from the city and to get a different view and understanding of Budapest!

The Highlight of Our Family Trip to Budapest

If you're visiting Budapest, don't miss this tour! Our family of four (my husband, our two daughters ages 18 and 20, and I) did the 6-hour hike with lunch, and it ended up being the absolute highlight of our trip. Laszlo was an exceptional guide—friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Budapest, its history, nature, and culture. He shared fascinating stories and explanations throughout the hike that made everything we saw so much more meaningful. What really stood out was how attentive he was to our group. He had a great sense of when we needed a short break and would stop at just the right moments to point out something interesting or take in another spectacular view. The pace felt perfect from start to finish. As first-time visitors to Budapest, we loved getting off the beaten path and experiencing the city's beautiful hills, trails, and breathtaking viewpoints. Lunch was a wonderful addition and gave us time to relax and continue the great conversation. Our daughters both commented afterward how interesting and engaging Laszlo was, which says a lot! We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend Trails of Budapest to anyone looking for a unique way to experience the city. Thank you, Laszlo, for such a memorable day!

    Wonderful walk in nature

I can’t recommend this hiking tour enough if you are looking for a chance to catch your breath and enjoy being surrounded by nature after experiencing much sightseeing in the city. Laszlo was the perfect guide. His combination of passion for the outdoors along with a little history of the area made it very interesting and enjoyable. Being a keen hiker, this was probably the best tour I did on my trip. The walk through the Buda Hills is not difficult and does not require full hiking gear. This makes it suitable for most people. At first I was concerned I might be the only person booked but 2 others joined the group. Having met Laszlo I would be happy to do this if no one else had come along.

Hiking in Budapest: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.

How much does Hiking in Budapest cost?

    +

Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hiking in Budapest take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.

Is Hiking in Budapest worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 198 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hiking in Budapest?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hiking in Budapest suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hiking in Budapest?

    +

Around 69 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hiking in Budapest start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Budapest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Budapest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
