In the company of a very experienced English-speaking guide this tour can be tailored to suit your personal interests. A “must see” however on any tour of Milan is the magnificent Duomo di Milano. The cathedral is the fifth largest in the world and the largest in Italy. It took over six centuries to build and is one of the world’s leading examples of Gothic architecture. As you wander through its interior your guide will explain about the art and architecture that make this cathedral so special. The city of Milan has its origins in the 6th Century B.C. and for about 200 years was the seat of the Roman Empire. Today it is a wonderful mix of old and new. On the tour you will visit one of the earliest shopping malls, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This 19th Century structure has two magnificent glass-vaulted arcades and a glass dome. You can take a little time out to browse through the shops or perhaps have a drink in one of the many cafes or bars, as Milan’s great poets, artist and writers of the 19th Century used to do. Milan also has a tradition for wonderful music and the world-renowned Teatro alla Scala, Milan’s Opera House is another not to be missed delight. Designed by Guiseppe Piermarini it was built over the ruins of a former theatre and was opened in 1778. People come from all over the world to see this wonderful theatre and to enjoy its magnificent operatic performances. Walk along the alleys of Brera district, the bohémien area of the city. Here among beautiful houses, antiques shops and posh boutiques there are one of the most beautiful art gallery in Italy and the botanical garden. A final piece of Milan’s history is the medieval Sforza Castle that was built by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan in the 15th Century. Join us on this private city tour of Milan in the company of a very knowledgeable guide. You will not be disappointed!

A tour not to miss
The tour started and finnished on time. Our guide, Giorgio, young but, surprisingly, with a vast knowledge about the facts and history of all the places that we visited. He even took us to a place not included in the program but worth to visit. We recommend the private guided tour

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.
How much does Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.
Is Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Highlights of Milan Private Guided Tour: Duomo, La Scala Theatre & Sforza Castle start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Milan?
+
On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Authentic Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking Class in Milan, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Milan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Milan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
