    3. Tan Thanh Beach Community Tourism

This is a real fishing village, not a manufactured tourist destination. This means you'll get a chance to experience the authentic way of life for the local people. You might see them going about their daily routines, mending nets, preparing boats, or selling their catch. Sampan Rides: Cua Khe boasts a 4.5 km coastline, and sampan rides are a popular activity for tourists [4]. These traditional wooden boats are a quintessential part of Vietnamese fishing culture, and a ride on a sampan offers a unique perspective of the village and coastline. Cua Khe has a cooperative specifically focused on community-based tourism which is on giving visitors an immersive experience that respects the local culture and way of life. Your tourist dollars are likely to go directly to the people who live there. It might not have the same level of amenities or infrastructure as a more established destination.

    4. The banyan tree (Ficus superba var. japonica Miq.), locally known as “cây đa Xóm Chùa”, rises proudly to a height of over 15 meters, with a massive canopy that provides shade to an entire gathering space below. Its trunk—over 4.3 meters in diameter—bears witness to centuries of natural and human history. Once located next to a village pagoda (hence the name “Xóm Chùa” or “Pagoda Hamlet”), the tree has long been a spiritual and cultural anchor in the lives of villagers. During wartime, the hollow of the tree offered shelter to local resistance fighters. Though the banyan was targeted with explosives, it survived and grew stronger, becoming a symbol of perseverance for generations. Today, the banyan tree remains a cherished part of the village’s daily life. Children play in its shade, elders gather to rest and share stories, and community rituals occasionally take place nearby. Empowering local communities, preserving cultural identity, and respecting natural heritage.

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hoi An?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
