Wonderful day tour around Halong Bay!
Wonderful day cruise around Halong Bay. Ship was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Food at lunch buffet was very good. Would recommend this tour for anyone wanting a premium experience!

Fabulous trip out to see the bay. A long day but worth it
Fabulous trip out to see the bay. We were picked up at 7am from our hotel in Hanoi, in a luxury 7 seater. As its a 2 hr journey there is a stop at a pearl factory, but there's no pressure to buy. We then had a short wait to get onto the boat. Getting on the boat, everyone was made very welcome with guests given a rose on arrival. There was a short meeting to let you know of the itinerary and days activities, and then free to relax and enjoy the views of the bay. The boat is one of the earliest to leave so arriving at locations before other boats. Lunch is a generous buffet with many options for all tastes, the mango and shrimp salad was extremely good. The first activity is on a wooden boat into the caves, followed by time for a canoe/swim stop. It was nice to see that during this time any rubbish seen in the water was picked up to help keep the area clean. There is short cooking demo and afternoon tea. The boat itself has everything you need, seating areas in and outside, sunbeds on the top deck. Very clean and tidy throughout and the staff were super helpful. There is a band on board who sang later in the day, but its definitely not a 'party' boat. Very relaxed and chilled out. We throughly enjoyed our day and would recommend. It is a long day but we felt it was well worth it.

Not the luxury experience as advertised
Lots of notes from the day - I wish I'd done another genuine 1st class trip - this was not the best as is billed by a long way. Picked up first at 6.40am - as it unfolded in the morning - it could have been at least 1 hour later than this. Part of the journey to the boat was a 30 minute stop off to be enticed to buy pearls - really not happy about that. Then waiting at the dockside for 30 minutes for the boat to be prepared and the obligatory purchase of drinks from the cafe. The on boat introduction - uncomfortable listening - weak jokes and all about the wealthy owner of the island - who cares. No commentary for any part of the trip on the history / conservation / anything. Clearly told to settle any payment before leaving the boat! Happy hour did not involve beer - only cocktails!? The fact drinks had to be paid for was a bit much given the ticket price. Lots of noisy kids on the tour (they must get a heavy discount) and parts of the boat turned into self imposed private areas for larger groups. The food during the day was poor and uninspiring. Sad to see litter floating about in the bay - the same problem worldwide. It felt like how much money can we make from everyone attending. This was a big commitment of time - 14 hours for me from start to hotel return - very disappointed and dampened the magical trip I was hoping for. Would have paid at least another £20 onto the £90 to bring about the necessary changes needed. I will do the trip again in 2026 - but with a real luxury experience.

Please note that your hotel is far from the pick up area, we supported the early pick up with no extra fee. We informed you the pick up time in advance. If you want to leave later, absolutely you will have to arrange your own transfer to the pick up point. It is a luxury limousine bus and we have no toilet on bus so all buses have to stop at the Pearl shop for restroom on the way, not to have to buy pearl. When we arrive the marina, we need to check in and sign with the local goverment before enter the boat. We are sorry that you did not like the introduction, for more information or questions, the guide is always available for you. We have drink list that you can order and yes, you will do the bill before leaving the boat. The price of drink on boat is higher on the land and it is the same on every boat since we have to pay more for it. Parents can book the boat trip for kids and we have kids on boat. And now it is summer vacation, we have more domestic and children tourists. We have specific price for kids, not a discount. We check your food requirement on advance and we have chefs on boat for buffet. We are sorry if you do not like food on boat. We will check and improve it. We - our boat do not throw trash into the ocean. We hope local people do not too. Halong is beautiful, we try to protect the bay and show you the beauty too. About the transportation, it depends on the traffic.,The itinerary is fixed. There is no change since the weather is good and no expected problems. We could not be able to contact you directly to support you quickly during the trip. We will check and note such a detailed feedback of you. Highly Recommend This Cruise!
I had a fantastic time on the cruise! The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome throughout the trip. The food was delicious with a great variety of options to suit every taste. I also loved the wide range of activities offered—there was always something fun to do, whether it was relaxing by the pool, enjoying live entertainment, or joining group games and events. It was a wonderful experience overall, and I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation at sea

Highlight of our Honeymoon
Our day trip to Ha Long Bay was a highlight of our honeymoon! Everything from start to finish was flawless. Ms. Luong was wonderful about communicating with me right after booking and ensuring we had a special experience. The views were unbelievable, the staff were so hospitable, the food and drinks were delicious, and it was a great mix of activities and relaxation. We could not recommend this cruise with Jade Sails highly enough!
