A great tour with a great guide !
Our guide Elena was very good. Very knowledgeable and professional. She was also quite friendly and made this tour one of our favorite. She explained in great details all we needed to know. We learned about the history of the country and about the Finnish culture. She took us to various places favored by Finnish people such as restaurants, coffee places, where they go and buy flavored licorice candy, special buns and the famous Moomin shop. We learned a great deal about Finnish culture. She also sent us all kind of informations for us to enjoy the next day, since she could not cover everything in only two hours. A great tour overall that I highly recommend, and particularly with Elena as a guide. We have went through many tours in the past, and we can tell that a guide can make the experience either very boring or very fascinating. She made it very fascinating.

Avoid this tour in Helsinki
This tour really disappointed. The tour company was supposed to pick us up and drop us off in the port but changed the plan the night before for us to meet them in the city. The guide was very young and inexperienced. She had only lived in Helsinki for two years and knew very little about the history or culture. She spent more time asking us questions about our lives than explaining about the city to us. We expected more from a private tour.

Great tour, a lot of...
Great tour, a lot of interesting history shared about Finland and Helsinki. Very much enjoyed exploring Suomenlinna and learning about the history of the defense of Helsinki and the role of the islands. Glen (our guide) encouraged us to explore and take our time when needed. He kept a good pace and had a wealth of knowledge to share.

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Helsinki?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
