Inaccurate information - you need a car to make this trip
WARNING - you will need your own personal car to do this activity. There is no mention of this in the advert which misleads you to believe you will be picked up in centre of the towns listed on the advert. We don’t find this out until late on the night before the activity despite asking for confirmation of the exact pick up point when we booked it 3 days earlier. I spent 2 hours messaging Viator then eventually the tour operator contacted us to say that there is no local pick up , we had to make our own way to the farm and if we took a taxi then it would cost more than the tour itself. This was extremely disappointing as we altered our holiday arrangements for 2 nights just to be in one of the towns listed in order to take this trip. The tour operator was apologetic and did offer us alternative trips but they were either on the wrong day for us or were unsuitable for us.. I did receive a full refund 3 days later. I understand these things can happen but went out of my way to ask both the tour operator and Viator to immediately amend the advert so as not to mislead and inconvenience anyone else. Disappointingly , 5 days on , this advert has not been amended hence I have had to give this review so others are aware of the true position regarding this trip

Amazing local experience not to be missed
One of the best local experiences i tried in Bulgaria. We used it in the Rhodope mountains and we lewrned to cook traditional food soecific for the region, we milked the cows and helped the hosts in their daily activities. Absolutely superb.

Black list this trip, this tour operator and Viator.com
This tour operator is cheating to us. Before I booked this trip, I was concerning the meeting point and the time because we would flight in the afternoon. I asked many times, and claimed will contact me and confirm me before the trip. when I read the details of the itinerary, it showed the meeting point is very near to my accommodation. So we booked. However, the tour operator did not contact me, even I tried to contact him though Viator.com 's app, still no reply. I though Viator.com staff to contact him, also they said no reply from the tour operator. At last, Viator.com staff gave me the phone number and I tried to contact him directly. Before the day of the tour, he replied me the meeting point showed in the itinerary was not the meeting point, that is the center of the city. It was nonsense, he asked us go to the destination ourselves but there was rural area , no public transportation to go there. But we did not have car, asked him to pick up and gave him back the fuel fee, then no reply more. We need to cancel it as we cannot go the destination he said. However, there is no refund. It make us very angry. it is a trail to cheat us money
Response from the operator: Hello, Sorry to read your review and everything what you wrote. That's completely not the case. Long story short: Before booking this activity you called us to ask for the activity in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital. We advised you that it's in Sofia but you need to reach it with transportation. You also have the exact location for Sofia in the product booking. You asked through an operator for the specific time from 09 am until 1 pm at latest. We also reconfirmed that. 1 day before the activity you say you cannot come because you cannot reach the destination. And once again reminder: this is in Sofia, you can walk, you can take a taxi, you can take the public transportation to some point and walk to the place. Viator by default was showing you a meeting point in the city center of Sofia, that's their map. You have the exact meeting point which is 10-15 minutes by taxi from the center of the capital. It's a big city and normally such activities happen in the quarters of it. We do not provide transportation but you are free to ask for a taxi at your hotel or online. In the end it's not possible to cancel when all arrangements were made for you, for the 2 people in the booking. We do not group or put other people in a confirmed booking. It's a private experience. And it's very cheap activity for what you get. How can you expect to be refunded for a booked activity for specific timeframe for specific date for specific hour in the last minute? That's truly not possible and you need to understand that. We find your words quite harsh and not true. This is an excellent product, local product, authentic and we operate it in over 25 locations in Bulgaria. In order to show you appreciation we are happy to take you another time with no charge, just to show you. Best regards, Hristo

Why this scores 41
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sofia.
How much does Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sofia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sofia is not rushed.
Is Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sofia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sofia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sofia and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Help the hosts: Breadmaking, Yoghurt making and Cattle Keeping start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sofia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sofia?
+
On Outty we rank every Sofia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communist Walking Tour of Sofia, Sofia Highlights 2 Hour Sightseeing Walking Tour, Sofia Escape Room - Teorema Rooms. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sofia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sofia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
