Whispers and Screams of Old Montreal
History, narrow streets, ghosts in the liminal spaces between Federal and Provincial land, sunset, stories, provocative, evocative and intriguing, told by Donovan King. Hidden truths of an old city built on the bones of indigenous people where clocks and time never meet
Response from the operator: Thank you for this amazing and descriptive review! I really appreciate your kind words and appreciation for the work we do unveiling dark and hidden history, not to mention the plethora of ghosts who haunt Old Montreal!

Montreal tour
I wanted to amend my initial review as there are things about the tour that confused me initially and I could have worded my things better than I did. As I traveled through Canada I learned about more about their "Truth and Reconciliation" policy. Probably would have been better to ask the guide about that instead of thinking it was weird. I didn't have that great of a time but I think it is not the fault of the guide, they certainly did their best. I think I was just tired and probably would have been better off rescheduling.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Haunted Montreal takes Truth and Reconciliation very seriously in our work. Not only do we seek the truth, but we also work with affected communities and stakeholders in search of justice and social change. I'm sorry to hear that you felt unwell during the tour. We are always happy to reschedule for situations like this, should you join us again in the future.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montreal.
How much does Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour cost?

How long does Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montreal is not rushed.
Is Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montreal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montreal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montreal and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Haunted Old Montreal Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montreal within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Montreal?
+
On Outty we rank every Montreal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Old Montreal Walking Tour | Small Group (Max 10) | by MTL Detours, The Original Montreal Mural Arts Tour by Spade & Palacio, Montreal Mile End Food Tour with Bagel, Poutine and 7 Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montreal?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montreal?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
