A relaxing mountain escape from Dubai with the family Review:
We took this Hatta mountain trip during a weekend family getaway, looking for something different from our usual city activities in Dubai. After spending most weekends between malls and beaches, it was nice to drive towards the mountains and enjoy a quieter environment with the children. The journey itself was part of the experience. The mountain views along the way were beautiful, and arriving in Hatta felt completely different from Dubai’s city atmosphere. Traveling with three children, I appreciated that the schedule was comfortable and included enough stops for everyone to enjoy. The highlight for our family was Hatta Dam. The turquoise water surrounded by mountains created a beautiful scene, and the kayaking activity was something the children really enjoyed. It was a simple activity, but spending time together on the water made the day memorable. We also enjoyed the scenic viewpoints and exploring some of the local heritage areas. It was interesting for the children to see another side of the UAE beyond skyscrapers and modern attractions. We spent around half a day exploring Hatta, which felt like a good amount of time for a family trip from Dubai. A few tips from my experience: start early to enjoy cooler weather and quieter roads, bring water and comfortable shoes, and plan your activities before arriving because there are several places to explore around Hatta. Overall, this was a great family escape and reminded us that there is much more to discover around Dubai beyond the city.
