    Mai Kitchen Cooking class- Fantastic!

My husband and I loved Mai’s cooking class. She is so well organised and her explanations were very clear. Fantastic hands on experience! We made three delicious dishes that we ate. Definitely a highlight!

    Highly recommended

We had a great time with Mai and Yu! They were very patient with us and explained the recipes and cooking processes clearly. The sizzling pancakes, steamed rice rolls, and tofu and eggplant were all delicious (our favorite were the pancakes). And we had great conversations with them; it was like being invited into a Vietnamese family's home.

5 stars experience at MAI kitchen

I would highly recommend Mai Kitchen, the Cookery experience was 5 stars, I was shown how to cook Hanoi Spring rolls, Sizzling pancake with Pork, and Stuffed Tofu and tomato sauce… all fresh , top quality ingredients. There is a big choice of dishes to choose from. After cooking it was enjoyable to sit down to the food with Mai and her husband. She even packed up some leftovers for me to bring back for my family. Vietnamese-in-law’s were impressed.

Best Cooking Class in Hanoi...Hands Down!

If you love Vietnamese food, you'll also love this experience. It's true what they say...the food really does taste better when you prepare it yourself. Don't think twice or hesitate on a class with Mai's Kitchen. We are so glad we did and wish we had done it sooner during our trip so we could have taken another class or two! The class was so much fun, we learned a lot, it was very interactive and hands on, and focused on a more wholesome experience that allows one to really get into Vietnamese cooking. We cooked some really delicious dishes we were able to select ahead of our class. This class is truly the best souvenir you could ever give yourself. You will remember it forever. Mai is a wondeful instructor. She makes things so simple and fun. She explains every step clearly. Her husband Hieu met us at our accommodation, took us to their local wet market and we shopped for some of our ingredients for the class. He was so informative and made what would otherwise be an overwhelming and chaotic experience so informative and worthwhile. I will never forget this class. This was truly the highlight of our Vietnam trip. When I return to Hanoi, I will be sure to contact Mai to sign up for another class to learn more.

Fantastic cooking class with truly wonderful hosts! :)

We had the most wonderful time at our cooking class with Mai & Hieu they were truly the most wonderful hosts!! This was an absolute highlight from our trip to Hanoi! Not only did we cook 3 incredibly delicious, authentic Vietnamese dishes, Mai & Hieu were also so generous sharing so much with us about their country, culture and food during our time with them. We asked lots of questions and they happily answered all of them! We felt like we got such a fantastic experience during our time with them and we will happily go back the next time we are in Hanoi and looking forward to seeing them both again! Such lovely, kind people, wonderful hosts and delicious food!! We highly, highly reccomend anyone visiting Hanoi to come and have a cooking class with Mai - you will love it! 🤗

Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa cost?

    +

Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Vietnamese Home Cooking Class in Private Villa start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
