Not for a person who doesn’t want to eat where locals eat

I was not very impressed with the way this tour was organised. We had to wait a long time for the tour guide to find a transport to take us to the place of tuk tuk hire while I was expecting they come to pick us up with a transport. Also we had to walk a long time to go to the place she wanted to give us food. She actually took us to experience real street food in the streets where all the locals eat on little chairs in front of the shops. After we refused to eat in those places she manage to convince her tour operators to take us to a decent restaurant to eat the street type foods in a restaurant. The restaurant was actually lovely and the food was delirious and she gave us lots of information about the food culture in Vietnam which was fascinating. However the amount of food was very little. We were 3 people and at the end we went back to the hotel still hungry. The experience was great and Anh tried really hard to keep us happy and she did a great job but I should say her tour organisers didn’t make it easy for her and for us.

Response from the operator: Dear Mastaneh, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We truly appreciate your insights and are grateful that you took the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the delays in the transportation and the walking involved, as we understand how this may have impacted the start of your tour. Your expectation of a pick-up service is completely reasonable, and we’ll be reviewing our logistics to ensure smoother arrangements for future tours. We're happy to hear that despite the initial challenges, you enjoyed the street food experience and the food at the restaurant. We will also take your feedback about the portion sizes seriously and work on ensuring that our tours provide a more satisfying amount of food for all guests. We’re grateful for your kind words about Anh. She is dedicated to providing a memorable experience, and we’ll make sure to work with our tour partners to streamline operations and improve the overall experience for everyone. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back for a more seamless experience in the future. Best regards, Rose

Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Tuk Tuk Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
