Tour Company need to improve their service.
This tour could be fantastic if only the communucation was efficient and the bus/transport company knew what they were doing. We were No problem, I may have availability for B&B on Fri and Sat night. It would be a double room ensuite with potential to put in a second bed if required for a 3rd person. This is more affordable at 60 per person per night based on min 2 sharing. If interested let me know, I just need to double check again that the Sat night is available. up by bus at 6am then dropped off at another bus, no explanation as to what was happening. Arrived in Sapa expecting to be brought to a hotel for lunch, dropped at a 'retreat' where we had to register. All of this would be no issue if it were explained to us. When we got to our homestay village we had been booked into a private bungalow but we got a bedroom for the four of us instead. The tour itself was superb with our local guide Mao co, she was exemplary. Because she was s local she explained about thd area, the different tribes and the culture. Thd bus was to depart at 3pm, didnt depart until 3.45pm and noted the TV screen was broken in my sleeper. Showed the driver, who had no English and translated via Google that I had to pay 300,000 for the screen. Had to be very clear with him that it was not us that broke it and then when he spoke to 'someone' by phone apologised to us. On return to Hanoi at 10pm we were just dropped at a bus stop with no one to explain anything to us. We went to the bus station office where it was explained that we had to wait on another shuttle bus service to take us to our hotel however no one could give us a time so with two young children we decided to get a taxi. This was unfortunate as we had paid for hotel pick up and drop off. Unfortunately the organisers need to up their game to ensure the overall experience is a good one. The local guide and the trekking was superb which was the saving of this tour for us.
Response from the operator: Hi, First of all, thank you so much to book our tour. About the bus, because Vip cabin bus is big, so can not pick up at hotel . Your hotel is in Hanoi Old Quater so we use small transfer car pick up at hotel to Big bus. About the room at homestay, our tour gudie had checked with use , you would like to stay at 1 room with 2 beds because you want to stay with your childs. And when end tour, bus only drop off at bus stop. Thank you so much!

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 233 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay?
+
Around 82 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hanoi - Sapa 2 Days 1 Night Overnight At Local Homestay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
