Full Bellies & Big Smiles in Hanoi!
We had such a fantastic time on the Hanoi walking food tour! It was so much fun, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. Bob was an exceptional tour guide — friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely passionate about sharing the food and culture of Hanoi with us. One of the highlights was being taken to his mum’s award-winning shop, which made the experience feel so personal and authentic. It was clear how proud Bob was to share these special places with us. A brilliant experience from start to finish, and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Hanoi. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the best of Hanoi’s food with a fantastic local guide!

Fantastic local food tour with Ricky in Hanoi Old Town
Ricky was an amazing guide for our food tour through Hanoi Old Town. The stops were excellent, very local, and everything was paced perfectly with an easy walk between places. He shared cool insights along the way, clearly knows the area and the people really well, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic. Beyond the food itself, Ricky is just a genuinely great guy: warm, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about showing people the real Hanoi. Highly recommend booking a tour with him.

Don't Miss! Great Food! Great Guide!
Ricky was awesome! I wasn't sure how to get to the meeting point so he swung by and picked me up on his motorcycle! Greatly appreciated! We ate so much food - I was stuffed! (So don't worry - you will sample plenty of delicious food). Best of all was the history he gave us regarding the tiny street cafes we visited. This along with an explanation of the food preparation method and how to properly eat it made for an interesting time! Ricky was an excellent, knowledgeable, and caring tour guide. Thank you, Ricky! Great early afternoon food adventure
We had a wonderful time exploring the delicious foods available in the Old Quarter! Rick is a fantastic guide and peppered the afternoon with bits of history and much good humor. This tour is an excellent way to learn more about the cuisine of Northern Vietnam.

Why this scores 89
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 440 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour?
+
Around 154 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Street Food Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
