Emma was our amazing guide. So friendly and helpful. Took us to the best local eateries (so good we went back), and was very knowledgeable. Best way to tour hanoi. Highly recommended!

    Cheerful, bubbly Emma!

Emma is a very cheerful and positive person. Her knowledge of where we could possibly eat are frequented by locals rather than tourists; and it amazed us that the food she suggested really tasted nice. Thank you for bringing us around. :)

Emma is the BEST!! She made our trip!

We had a wonderful tour with Emma! She took us through both the French Quarter and old quarter to find some Vietnamese treats. Although we expected to eat well, we were overjoyed that Emma shared so much history and culture with us, including what university life is like in Vietnam. After her tour, we felt better oriented with how to get around the city and look for more delicious eats. She even shared a restaurant list with us later for us to explore on our own! Thank you so much to Emma and the tour company for giving us this amazing opportunity to learn more about your lovely city, food, and culture!

Response from the operator: Having a passionate student like Emma make your trip so special is exactly the kind of meaningful experience our club strives to create, Jason. We are delighted that her personal stories about university life and her helpful restaurant list left you feeling much more confident to explore our beautiful city on your own. Thank you so much for celebrating our organization with such an amazing review, and we wish you endless delicious discoveries in your future travels.

    Hanoian tasty eateries!

Emma was our tour guide for the street food tour! She was the sweetest and brought us to local restaurants that we would have never found! That way we were able to try super tasty and less known dishes! Thank you so much, Emma!

Response from the operator: Discovering hidden Hanoian eateries is exactly what our street food tours are all about, Filiz, and we are so glad that Emma made this happen for your group. It brings us great joy to hear that her sweet personality guided you to those less-known local restaurants where you could enjoy such super tasty dishes. Our entire team truly appreciates your kind words, and we hope you continue to find amazing local food on all your future travels.

    Food tour with Hana!

Hana was our guide for the street food walking tour! A note of caution, MUST keep your stomachs empty as by the end of the tour all our clothes buttons came apart and we added 10kg each to our body weights 😁 but the tour around Hanoi was really yummy, I only wish I did it on my first day so I could go back for more

Response from the operator: Reading your humorous warning about keeping an empty stomach truly made our day, Anthea, and we are so glad that Hana treated your group to such a satisfying street food adventure. It is fantastic to know that you found all the local dishes so delicious, even if it left you wishing you had booked the tour earlier to revisit those yummy spots. We highly appreciate your fun and wonderful review for our volunteer club, and we hope you bring that great appetite back to Hanoi very soon.

Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ha Giang Loop 3-Day Small Group - from Hanoi, (Group/Individual) HANOI STREET FOOD TOUR, Incense Village Quang Phu Cau, Hat Village and Hanoi City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

    +

Included: English speaking guide. Not included: Local side dishes ($5); Drinks (beer/smoothie/mixed fruits/coffee) ($10); and Tips and gratitude. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 614 listed pickup locations in and around Hanoi. Be ready about 5 minutes before the start time.

What languages is Hanoi Old Quarter Private Daily Street Food Experience offered in?

    +

It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
