What you get

    About this experience

For a unique Hanoi photo adventure, visit bustling Long Bien Market before dawn, as thousands of deliveries from the provinces and farther-flung regions of Vietnam provide the traders with stock. King crab and tuna from the East Sea mingle with juicy apples and pumpkins from Dalat, and longans and lychees from the market gardens surrounding Hanoi. The early morning conditions allow you to focus on shooting in different lights, from night-time to sunrise, to after daybreak. The situation also offers a chance to work on portraiture in environments of hectic activity – a vital skill for travel photographers. From century-old Long Bien Bridge overlooking the market, look at taking those classic photo-journalistic establishing shots. Long Bien sunrise takes in: Tran Quang Khai Street, Long Bien Market, Long Bien Railway Station and Long Bien Bridge. The tour runs from 4:30 – 8:30am, and begins under Long Bien Bridge, Yen Phu Street. Hotel pick-up starts at 4am.

    A Magnificent Immersion

I arrived from Seattle, Washington, and participated in four half-day tours. I have been published in magazines, newspapers and wire services and won awards for some of my work. But it became clear I needed to go back to some basics and Vietnam in Focus' guides helped me rebuild a foundation with tips on positioning, settings and composition. There is so much to learn and the guides provided critical insights and encouragement. I came away with memorable photos reflecting daily life and culture.

An Unforgettable Experience – Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour

I joined the Long Bien Sunrise Tour and it was honestly the best experience I’ve had in Vietnam. My guide Tung picked me up at 4:30 am from my hotel, and we took a taxi to Long Bien Market while it was still dark. To ease into the intense atmosphere, we first started on the bridge, where I could observe the market from above. Tung prepared me really well for what to expect inside the market: it’s loud, crowded, and full of movement, with motorbikes, carts and trucks constantly weaving through the narrow paths. As we entered the market, the sun began to rise and the light was absolutely beautiful. I was able to catch some really special moments. Afterwards, we returned to the bridge to photograph the morning traffic heading into the city. We ended the tour with a delicious breakfast and coffee at a nearby café. Despite the early wake-up and the intense heat, this tour was 100% worth it. I would have never gone to the market alone at that hour, but Tung gave me a real sense of security and brought me to the best spots for photography. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m so grateful for the treasure of images I got to take home.

    WHAT A FANTASTIC PHOTO TOUR

This tour was amazing 10/10 Boris our guide picked us up at 04.30 in the morning to start the photo tour, immediately we felt comfortable with him and he was an absolute pleasure to spend the time with. He gave us many tips advice and information that we will always take with us. Boris took us to Long Bien bridge to photograph the train and the photos turned out amazing, beyond our expectations. We then entered the market and took photos of the people going about their daily lives. He showed us where to take the photo, how to take them and when to take them. He gave great advice to Jayne as she didn’t know her way around the camera only on auto mode, but to her surprise found with Boris’s advise she could move on and take great photos without using auto. He has great patience. we walked to old quarter after the market and took more shots, visited train street as well, we were well impressed with the information and advice we were given I can’t recommend Boris enough. without him our photos would have been just good photos but with him they were truly great. We will be super proud to show off our morning photo tour photographs to all who want to see them. On viewing photos later, we have some fantastic ones. Thanks Boris 😁 Once again a big shout out to Boris and a big thank you for all your help, advice and friendship. hope if you book this tour you are as lucky as us to have Boris take you 👍

we were picked up by Boris at 04.30am in the morning for the photo tour of Long Bien market Right from the start Boris was friendly and made us feel comfortable. He was an absolute pleasure to be with. He gave us lots of tips and advise which we will take with us, He showed us what photos to take, where to take them from and how to take them, We can’t thank him enough and he definitely went the extra mile. At the end of the tour when we looked at the photos we had taken, I can honestly say we had some great ones, and this would not have been possible without him, we would never have found the market and the photos exceeded our expectations. If you book this tour, I only hope you are as lucky as we were and get Boris to take you. Once again Thank you Boris it was beyond all our expectations. Paul and Jayne Machin

Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $101 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Long Bien Sunrise Photo Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
