Baez and other guests were crammed into small, sweltering bomb shelters underneath the back courtyard where they remained throughout the duration of the raid. A highlight of our Hanoi visit!
Our family took the bites and eats tour. Definitely heed the directions to not eat before you take the tour! Our guide, Chloe, was amazing! She guided us to so many varied, unique, and tasty spots in the old corner. We especially loved how a table would magically be available as we walked up! Chloe answered all of our questions about food, culture, and food preparation and added a lot of interesting, extra details. We definitely recommend the tour and Chloe as a fabulous guide as well! Thank you!

Private walking tour with Son
Our guide, Son, was excellent! He took us to places we otherwise would not have thought of going. It was nice to see Hanoi from a local’s perspective. He was also very flexible and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Perfect start to the trip!
I decided to take a couple of food tours as soon as I got to Hanoi to better get my bearings on the city. I am so glad I did this. The city can be overwhelming at first and a food tour with a guide really helps to 'break the ice' and get you walking around the city. Bryan was our guide. We went to so many places. And not touristy places. Which I loved! I am a huge foodie and have had many food tours in other countries. None of them compare to Bryan's. Bryan took us to several places one would never find if new to the city. He told us the story behind each stop and in between eats he taught us some history of Vietnam. He stopped at several places I would have just walked by and never tried. At each stop I learned something new. And that was the goal - to learn more about the food and culture in Vietnam starting in Hanoi. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to spend two days with Bryan. It was time well spent and worth every single penny. Next time I'm in Hanoi I'm scheduling another tour. So much to see! And taste! Thanks for two great days!

Great introduction to Vietnam
We did the Hidden Gems and Highlights three hour tour and a day trip to Ninh Binh with our guide Mr Vu. Our first time in Vietnam and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Really informative and a good sense of history and humour! Would highly recommend this company.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hanoi Highlights and Hidden Gems Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
