    A great day out!

As we did not have time to do an overnight cruise, this was an excellent alternative. It was a long day; but we managed to see everything we needed and it was exactly as it looked in the pictures. Great meal onboard.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so happy to hear the day cruise was a perfect alternative for your schedule. Ha Long Bay is truly breathtaking, and we’re glad you enjoyed the scenery, onboard meal, and overall trip with LVP Travel. Hope to welcome you back for even more amazing experiences in Vietnam! 🌿🚢

    Adventure in Vietnam

We did a 10 day tour of Vietnam. Each day was a different guide, new places to see, and new people to meet. The experience was great. LVP was very responsive to all inquiries we made before and during the trip. Our hotels were beautiful and each day was packed with things to do but not overwhelming. Everyone showed up on time to guide us and we were comfortable during the time when we were in our own. Food was excellent. Overall a great experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your 10-day journey across Vietnam with LVP Travel. It means so much to know our guides, hotels, food, and daily arrangements helped create a smooth and memorable experience for you. Your kind words truly motivate our team to continue delivering the best service possible. We hope to welcome you back to Vietnam again in the future! 🌸

Our hotel was apparently outwith the pick up zone yet others on the trip were dropped off within 5 mins drive of our hotel (which we didnt realise at the time)on return and we were not offered the opportunity to get off and make our way to our hotel from this much shorter distance(as others who were picked up at the opera house with us were) .It would be helpful if Viator could ensure operators provide a map delineating the area where they pick up that can be viewed prior to booking .This trip is a two and a half hour drive there and back from Hanoi so worth factoring in particularly for your return .We were not dropped off until 10pm and had to find our own way back to our hotel .Surprised at how little information was provided by the guide about this UNESCO site .also worth bearing in mind that getting on and off the boat can be challenging if you are older or unsteady on your feet .In addition the cave visit involves a number of steps .food was OK but you have to be quick as you are sharing with 6 others .Enjoyed seeing this UNESCO site but Viator and operator can made changes to make it better when booking and the overall experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to highlight your experience. Regarding the drop-off location, our pickup and return points are arranged based on the designated service zone for operational efficiency and traffic regulations in Hanoi. We understand your concern and will review how we communicate this information more clearly prior to departure to avoid any misunderstanding. We also appreciate your comments about the guide’s explanations, boat access, and meal arrangements. Your feedback is valuable and helps us improve both our briefing process and overall service quality. We’re glad you enjoyed visiting this beautiful UNESCO site, and we will certainly take your suggestions into consideration to enhance the experience for future guests. Thank you again for your constructive comments.

    Not for me

I would never do this again! Not the guides fault but the tour was full of rude and obnoxious Indians that really ruined the day. If there was an option to not go with Indians, and I knew what was going to happen, I would have take n that option. They ruined the day. Ha Long Bay was OK but really spoilt by the excessive tourism/boats

Response from the operator: Hi Mr/Mrs Darren... We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. While we are glad to know the guide was not at fault, we sincerely regret that the group dynamics and the busy conditions in Ha Long Bay affected your enjoyment of the tour. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. As a shared-group tour operator, we welcome travelers from many different countries and cultures, and occasionally group travel may not suit everyone’s preferences. We completely understand how important comfort and atmosphere are when traveling, and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Your comments regarding tourism density in Ha Long Bay are also well noted, and we continuously work with our partners to select the best routes and timings to improve guest experiences where possible. We truly appreciate you traveling with us and would love the opportunity to welcome you again in the future — perhaps on one of our Europe tours, where we can recommend private or small-group options better suited to your travel style. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

    Beautiful view in the bay

Ha Long Bay: you need to see this when you are in (Northen) Vietnam. Beautiful view of limestones and caves. The Sung Sot cave is amazing. The boat, the crew and the vibe were really good to have a nice vacation. There is a lot of walking here. I have never heard of Titop Island before, but you can go swimming or trekking to above to see the view over the bay and boats. The weather was perfect. I wish the cruise company good luck with their business, because they are doing great with their service and food

Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi - Halong Bay Full Day Trip from Hanoi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
