What you'll see and do

  1. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

Your private English speaking guide and transport will pick you up from your hotel to start an exciting exploration of this fascinating region. Our first stop is to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where we will learn about revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh. There will be an opportunity to take pictures of this historic site! Then, we move to B52 Ho Huu Tiep Lake.

  2. Huu Tiep Lake and the Downed B-52

The lake is an eerie reminder of the Vietnam War, where a B-52 bomber was shot down just before the war ended. The wreckage in the middle of this otherwise tranquil lake is a powerful reminder of the human cost of conflict.

    30 minutes here

  3. Temple of Literature & National University

Vietnam’s capital is renowned for its historical architecture, and South-East Asian, French and Chinese influences can be felt here. A perfect example of this historical architecture is the perfectly preserved Temple of Literature, which was Vietnam’s first national university. Built in 1070, the Temple of Literature is often considered one of Hanoi’s most attractive landmarks. This building is a perfect example of traditional Vietnamese architecture.

  4. Hoa Lo Prison

This former prison, used by French colonists for prisoners of war, is one of Hanoi’s most historically significant sites.

  5. Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake)

Hanoi’s Old Quarter, dating back to the 13th century, is a lively hub with countless stores selling every item imaginable, temples, religious landmarks and hundreds of motorbikes! This exciting, and sometimes overwhelming, labyrinth of ancient streets is a must-see for tourists who want to get a sense of the cultural and historical importance of this fascinating city. To escape the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter’s madness, we’ll head to Hoan Kiem Lake. This tranquil lake surrounds Ngoc Son Temple, which lies majestically on a small island in the centre of the lake. If you would like to explore on your own terms, simply decide a meet up time with your guide and head back to your accommodation!

Coordination

We had a layover in Hanoi for a couple of hours and Maika Tours team arranged a perfect and tailor made sightseeing tour for our family in a super short amount of time. Coordination and communication has been excellent. Our tour guide was Hoan and could not have asked for anione better. We had the best time. Great cultural insights, scrollen in the old city of Hanoi and delivious food. It was the best. Totally recommend.

Great layover tour with Au Van Hoan

Super quick and smooth with well picked places in Hanoi to fit a 5,5 hour long layover tour. We had a great time. Many thanks from Sweden!

Nice

It's a crazy town full of people and scooters but well worth a visit. The temperature is great in march and no mosquitos. More of an old town feel than ho chi min.

All the sights and tastes of Hanoi!

Lan is an excellent host for a visit to Hanoi. Over two days, she took us to all the main sites - and made sure we did it at a good pace. The Temple of Literature was definitely a highlight as was exploring some of the different foods available around the French Quarter.

Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Full Day City Private Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

+

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
