Unforgettable Vietnamese Cooking Experience with Mango!

We had an absolute blast at the Hanoi Cooking Class! The experience started with a fun trip to the local market before diving into cooking. Mango was an incredible instructor—engaging, super friendly, and fluent in English, which made the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable throughout. We learned how to prepare traditional dishes that were both delicious and straightforward to make at home. Everything was handled professionally, and the food perfectly catered to our tastes. It was a fantastic activity, and we’re taking home great memories! 100% recommended for anyone visiting Hanoi! Wishing Mango and the team continued success.

    Fantastic cooking workshop

We had a fantastic cooking workshop yesterday led by Cherry. Dine with Locals handles things in a particularly professional manner. The dishes were delicious and easy to prepare. The atmosphere was good and the people were friendly. We are taking home a wonderful memory. We wish Cherry and her colleagues many more wonderful workshops and success in the future. Warm regards, Joop and Judith from the Netherlands

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Joop and Judith, for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review! We are absolutely delighted to hear that Cherry led you through such a memorable and enjoyable session, and that you found the dishes both tasty and approachable to make. It warms the whole team to know the welcoming atmosphere and the warmth of the people around you made your Hanoi experience truly special, and we sincerely hope to welcome you or anyone dear to you back to our table someday. Fantastic Experience!

We absolutely enjoyed learning about and preparing Vietnamese dishes and the differences between regional cuisines. Our chef and host, Jessie, was outstanding at keeping everyone engaged and informed while we toured the market to buy ingredients and during preparation. He was an expert in accommodating vegetarian diners in our group and also keeping two under-4 year olds occupied over 4 hours! The recipes he gave us will be put to good use when we get home. We had a dinner reservation that night and we’re so full from our daytime class we barely ordered any dinner… 😀 If we were in Hanoi for longer, we would go again.

Response from the operator: Thank you for joining our Hanoi Cooking Class and for sharing such generous feedback! We are thrilled Jessie kept the market tour and cooking session engaging, adapted thoughtfully for vegetarian guests, and even helped keep the little ones entertained while you explored Vietnamese dishes and regional flavors. It was a pleasure to host your group, and we love knowing the recipes will travel home with you. A portion of your booking helps provide meals for children in Hanoi hospitals. Thank you for helping us give back to the community. Warmly, Up Travel Vietnam

Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting cost?

    +

Prices start at $32 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 91 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting?

    +

Around 32 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hanoi Cooking Class: Market Tour, Free Liquor & Coffee Tasting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
