   The moment your feet touch the cobblestones, you'll realize this isn't a tourist sight—it's a living neighborhood. White walls, dark-tiled roofs, old courtyard gates, and the sound of Yue opera drifting from a radio—these sights and sounds make time feel like it's slowed down. The East River flows quietly alongside the lane, where the old waterfront way of life remains—someone rinsing vegetables on the stone steps, another crouching by the bank with a fishing rod, others strolling along the river with their birds, chatting with neighbors. It's all so unhurried. Watching them, you'll feel this city moves at a different rhythm—easy, unforced. By the time you finish this lane, what you'll carry with you is that quiet, lived-in soul of an old city—the river mist on your skin, the opera melody from an open window, the casual greetings between neighbors passing by.

2. After a short walk, we'll take you to a place that's blown up on social media—many people call it "Little Kyoto." And we didn't make that up—it's what visitors started calling it themselves, because this lane feels just like those quiet little corners you'd find in Kyoto, Japan. The scenery here is absolutely gorgeous—the kind of place where you could just stand and daydream. The stone pavement is often damp, lined with low bamboo fences and wooden palisades, moss creeping over the walls. Sunlight filters through the branches, scattering dappled shadows all over the ground. It's so peaceful and quiet—a completely different world from the lively bustle of Wuliu Lane we just left behind. A lot of travelers come here specifically for this spot. You don't even need to try—just stand there and snap a photo, and it looks like a movie still. This is one of the absolute highlights of your route, so make sure your phone battery is fully charged!

3. Before you even step into this narrow little lane, your nose gets there first—the smell of fried fish, sizzling pancakes, and crispy fritters all mingling together, drifting right in. This is Damalang, a lane just over two hundred meters long, known as "Hangzhou's last street-side market." Most of the stalls here have been around for over a decade, some even longer. Their storefronts may be unassuming, but the flavors are the kind that locals never tire of. Your guide will take you to try these authentic local favorites, just the way Hangzhou residents love them. You'll easily soak up the city's vibrant street-life atmosphere and get a true glimpse of its most genuine side. By the time you finish walking through Damalang, you'll have not only tasted the most authentic local snacks—you'll have seen Hangzhou as it really is, raw and unpolished.
