One of the highlights on my trip to Bangkok
If you’re looking for an authentic experience in Bangkok, don’t miss House of Taste Cooking School. Our instructor, Bense, was outstanding! He was welcoming, knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire class both fun and easy to follow. We prepared four delicious Thai dishes, including a flavorful Thai curry, a classic Thai stir fry, and one of Thailand’s most iconic desserts—mango sticky rice. Bense did a wonderful job explaining the ingredients, cooking techniques, and how to recreate each dish at home. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the class was hands-on from beginning to end, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. It was the perfect combination of learning, cooking, and enjoying authentic Thai cuisine. This was much more than just a cooking class—it was a cultural experience and one of the highlights of my visit to Bangkok. I highly recommend House of Taste Cooking School, and if you have the opportunity to learn from Bense, you’re in for a fantastic experience!

Wonder experience!
This is the first time I've done a cooking class while traveling abroad but it won't be the last. Learning about the different varieties of spices, cooking styles, and reasons why they cook certain dishes was fascinating. Our chef was extremely knowledgeable about her culture and how to prepare the dishes. I would definitely recommend this class for anyone visiting. I

An Authentic Thai Cooking Experience.
Bense our cooking host was friendly, cheerful and very informative. She shared her knowledge of the ingredients in each dish we prepared and taught us how to prepare those ingredients. Bense also guided us in the cooking process in the wok. I enjoyed that I was involved in the entire process of the dish. It was a real " hands on authentic experience", that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This cooking class was...
This cooking class was hands down our favorite experience of the entire trip! If you're visiting, don't miss it. April was an incredible instructor—she was funny, spoke excellent English, and explained every step so clearly that everyone could follow along with confidence. She made the class fun, interactive, and informative while teaching us about the ingredients, techniques, and local cuisine. The class had about 10–15 people, which was the perfect size to keep it engaging without feeling crowded. Most of the experience took place in air-conditioned spaces, making it very comfortable. They were also happy to adapt the recipes for a variety of dietary restrictions, so everyone could participate and enjoy the meal. The food we made was absolutely delicious, and it was so satisfying to sit down and enjoy everything we had prepared. As a bonus, they provided recipes for many of the dishes at the end, so we can recreate them at home. This was our #1 favorite activity of the trip, and we can't recommend it highly enough. If you're considering this class, book it—you won't regret it!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.
How much does Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.
Is Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 679 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour?
+
Around 238 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hands on Thai Cooking Class and Market Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bangkok?
+
On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bangkok?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bangkok?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
