The waters are beautiful,...
The waters are beautiful, but I felt like I should’ve gotten more for my money. We paid $400. No guide no tour. Note to self just pay the entrance fee for $25

Family Snorkeling
Hanauma Bay was beautiful and we saw lots of fish and coral while snorkeling. I didn’t give it 5 stars due to the inconvenience of having to pick up our snorkel equipment in Waikiki before going. This is the “meeting location”. Transportation is not included. Lots of traffic. The pickup location was not easy to find as there were no signs with the company’s name. Once found, it was easy and the staff were all polite and pleasant. We weren’t staying in Waikiki, so just plan appropriately for the traffic if you aren’t staying in Waikiki. Lots of traffic in Honolulu. The company did a good job of getting us tickets to enter the bay close to the time we wanted. Parking at Hanauma Bay was very easy and cost $3.00.

Hawaiian Hospitality and Magic
Definitely the highlight of our Hawaiian trip and an experience we'll remember forever. Hanauma Bay is a magical place and everyone should go there at least once. The water was crystal clear and we saw so many colorful fish. I also have to give a very special thanks to Chris and the entire YOLO Hawaii team for their INCREDIBLE customer service. There was an issue with our booking: our reservation got cancelled somehow. It looked as if we wouldn't be able to go and my wife and I were very upset. BUT Chris spent a lot of time back and forth with us on the phone re-booking and re-scheduling for a day that would work with our itinerary. The initial snafu wasn't his fault but he took the time to make it right and made sure we had an amazing day on the water. I am recommending Chris to all our family and friends because he actually seems to care about his customers. (My wife claims that this was the best customer service recovery experience she's ever had.) We're also going to book with him for other experiences in the future, when we return to the island.

Poor planning from Viator!!!
I was told it included transpiration, it did not! But even worse is when I "Uber" my trip the officials at Hanauma Bay did not recognize the registration I printed from Viator. The only good experience was the officials at the Park did allow us to enter but I had to prove I had ID. Very disappointed !!!
Response from the operator: Who told you transportation is included? It is clearly stated in the product description that transportation is not included. Every problem arose due to not reading the product description. Please go back, read the description and all your complaint will seem silly.

Why this scores 43
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.
How much does Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.
Is Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hanauma Bay Experience with Admission Ticket and Equipment start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oahu?
+
On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oahu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oahu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
