Long day but absolutely worth it.
It was a long day but worth it. The roadhouse restaurant in the morning was wonderful with an amazing selection of freshly cooked food. Then we had a castle stop which had some beautiful scenery. However, that was nothing compared to picturesque Hallstatt. What a beautiful place! Our guide Lily was friendly, informative and communicative. Our driver was great too.

Charming trip to Hallstatt.
Hallstatt is a charming and lovely destination. We didn’t realize we would be traveling on a large bus with 60 people but at the end of the day we must admit the bus was comfortable, clean and smooth! The arrangements were timely and there were adequate breaks. Our guide Olga was kind, precise and educational. She always had a smile and was so helpful. Hallstatt is a very small town and so many people visited it each day. It makes one wonder if they will limit the visits at some point. So happy we saw it. We also did the one hour boat ride there and we would recommend that too.

Hallstatt with boat tour
Beautiful village in such a picturesque area. The place is so beautiful and well kept well worth a visit. The only downside was on our tour we took the boat trip and that meant we only had 90 mins to explore the town

False advertisement / Scam
1. The air conditioning on the bus was extremely weak. The bus became unbearably hot, and at one point I genuinely felt unwell from the heat. For a full-day tour, especially during summer, this is unacceptable. 2. The rest stops were at highway restaurants that they are partnered with, where everything was ridiculously overpriced — around €5.5 for a small bottle of water, for example. Of course, nobody forces you to buy anything, but choosing these overpriced stops for guests left a very bad impression. 3. My biggest complaint, however, is the "Skywalk". The tour I paid for specifically included transportation/pickup, the boat ride, and the Skywalk. The Skywalk portion was not provided, yet the company refused to give me even a partial refund for the service I did not receive. If something included in the advertised package is not provided, I think refunding that portion is the bare minimum. Overall, the experience felt misleading and poorly handled. I would not book with this company again, and I recommend that other travelers be very careful before booking with them.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that some aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations, and we would like to clarify a few points for future guests. All of our buses are equipped with air conditioning, and the systems are regularly maintained and normally operate properly. During the exceptionally hot period in Austria, however, keeping a bus at a comfortable temperature can be more challenging than usual. We understand that everyone experiences heat differently, and we are sorry if you personally found the temperature uncomfortable. Regarding the rest stops, the restaurants are located at standard highway service areas in Austria. The prices there are set by the individual businesses, and we have no control or influence over their pricing. Purchasing food or drinks at these stops is, of course, entirely optional. Regarding the Skywalk, we kindly ask guests to review the tour description and booking options carefully. The tour does not include both the Skywalk and the boat ride as two services provided simultaneously. Due to the Skywalk being closed for renovation, which is beyond our control, we offer the boat ride as an alternative option. Guests can choose whether or not to add this option when booking. In your case, the boat ride was selected as part of your booking, and this service was provided in full. Therefore, the service included in and selected with your booking was delivered as described. We appreciate your feedback and hope this clarification is helpful to other travelers considering this tour.

Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option take?
+
Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 1,425 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option?
+
Around 499 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hallstatt Guided Day Trip from Vienna With Skywalk Option start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
