If you don't like standing in the traffic jam and among the tourist busses, you prefer walking or using public transport and you would like to get more information about the details of the buildings, history and everyday-life of the local people and you want to do it freely and flexibilly, let's have a walking tour with me in Budapest! I’m an art historian and a licensed guide. We can start where and when you wish. I recommend you to look at the Parliament Building from outside, houses in classical and Art Nouveau style and the St.Stepen's Cathedral in the Innercity. The old underground will take us to the Heroe’s Square and the Vajdahunyad Castle. We can look around in the Jewish district, too. It is worth going to the Buda side, an escalator or a public bus will take us to the Castle District where we are going to see the former Royal Palace, the old Baroque houses with gothic elements, the famous Matthias Church and the picturesque view from the Fishermen’s Bastion.

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

    +

How many days do you need in Budapest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
