Skip the beach club
The transportation was air conditioned and very nice! Mud volcano is a 40 min experience that is cool. Floating in the mud is crazy. There are men who will massage you for extra $. The Beach club was pretty gritty. It was under construction and on an unappealing beach: the water at the mud volcano was nicer tbh

Ok experience
The volcano mud experience itself was definitely unique and something different, but unfortunately, I would not do it again. The biggest issue was the unexpected tipping. We were advised that we should tip for pictures and other services, but it was never made clear that it would be $10 for pictures, $10 to hold your shoes, and another $10 to get washed off. These additional costs should really be communicated upfront or included in the excursion price so guests can budget accordingly. It could have been a really enjoyable experience, but the constant requests for money took away from it. At one point, I had to step in and make it clear that I would not be paying more than the agreed-upon $10 total. I also felt the tour guide could have done more to assist with the situation and help calm things down. The experience itself was unique, but the pressure around tipping and the lack of communication unfortunately overshadowed what could have been a great excursion.
