Jeffrey saves the day
Jeffrey was a wonderful guide. Very engaging and easy to talk to. If you want to do Area 798, be sure to avoid Mondays - many exhibitions are closed. But Jeffrey was able to save the day and found alternative activities for me. It was the highlight of my stay in Beijing.

Wish you many more great travel moments, and hope you can visit Beijing again. Best regards, Lily's Beijing Tours Team

Take a guide like Jeffrey with you
Jeffrey was very good at showing me different areas of 798 - it is huge and you could easily get lost. I appreciated that he was very attentive to steps etc to ensure I didn’t fall. He also tried to get a sense of what kind of art I liked. I was interested in modern sculptures. We also visited a couple of design stores. I would suggest coming here in the afternoon as studios and galleries etc open at approx 11 AM or later.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re really glad Jeffrey gave you such a safe, attentive, and personalized tour of 798 Art Zone. It’s wonderful that he looked after you carefully, helped you explore the modern sculptures you love, and took you to great design stores. We really appreciate you sharing the useful tip about visiting in the afternoon — it will help many future guests. We’ll pass all your kind compliments to Jeffrey; he’ll be absolutely delighted! 😊 Best regards, Lily's Beijing Tours Team

Unique artsy experience gives a taste of modern Beijing
The 798 Art District is a must-see if you’re visiting Beijing. It’s a different flavor from the other historical sites most people see, giving you a chance to see the vibrant modern art scene and also do some unique shopping. My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon browsing the galleries and studios- the wide variety of art is really amazing. Jeffrey was a very helpful guide, helping us seek out unique art and also translating the details of the art we enjoyed. Just walking around the district is a treat too, there’s plenty of cafes to keep you going and enough trees to beat the heat even in June. Highly recommended!

How far in advance should I book Half Day Tour to 798 Art Zone with Private Tour Guide Service?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
