    What you'll see and do

    1. The Blue Eye

The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is a water spring and natural phenomenon occurring near Muzinë in Vlorë County, southern Albania. A popular tourist attraction, the clear blue water of the river bubbles forth from a depth of more than fifty metres. Divers have descended to fifty metres, but it is still unclear what the actual depth of the karst hole is. Blue Eye is one of the most beautiful sights in Southern Albania and an easy day trip from Saranda. Conveniently, the Blue Eye in Albania is also right on the way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gjirokastra (also written Gjirokastër), Berat’s twin city. It’s quite easy to see both the Blue Eye and Gjirokastra together in a day trip if you are based in Saranda or Ksamil. If you have more time, you can visit them separately as well.

    2. Lekuresi Castle

Lëkurësi Castle (Kalaja e Lëkurësit) is a ruined castle in Lëkurës, southern Albania. The castle is on a strategic hill point overlooking the town of Saranda, southeast of the town centre. From here one can control the whole town as well as the islands of Ksamil. The castle of Lëkurës was built in 1537 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent who had attacked Corfu and needed to control the harbor of Saranda and the road that connected it with Butrint.

    A fabulous day Albania

A private tour is a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the Blue Eye and it’s crystal clear waters. Lekursi Castle is perched on a hill overlooking the Ionian Sea. The panoramic views are well worth the trip. The blue water in Ksamil, a coastal village in Albania is so inviting.

    Great time in Sarende!

We enjoyed the experience with Ari, who was very friendly knowledgeable and professional as he educated us on the history and culture of Albania as we drove to see the blue eye and the castle. He was very clear and communicated well before and during the trip.

    Great First Impression of Albania

Our tour guide Valentina, or Ina as she prefers, was fantastic. The tour ended up being just my husband and I. It was the perfect way to explore a new place in the world. It was very informal and a perfect pace. Ina treated us like family and although one of the beaches was under construction, she made sure we were kept busy back at our starting point, with a recommendation on where to eat. It was perfect. Thank you

Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Saranda.

How much does Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil) cost?

    +

Prices start at $92 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Saranda usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil) take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Saranda is not rushed.

Is Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Saranda, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil)?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Saranda can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Saranda and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half-day Tour in South Albania (Blue Eye, Lekursi Castle, Ksamil) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Saranda within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Saranda?

    +

On Outty we rank every Saranda experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sarandë: Small-Group Boat Tour with Swim Stops, Drinks & Parasols, Tour Gjirokaster,Blue Eye & Lekursi Castle, Saranda Boat Tour to Kakome,Hidden Cave and Beaches with Snorkell. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Saranda?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Saranda?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
