A wine tasting tour in Stellenbosch
It turned out to be a private tour. Our guide/driver Zain was very knowledgeable and attentive. The first winery Zevenwacht - we had a tour of the cellar - very interesting, then tasting of 4 different wines, paired with cheese. Highly recommended! The second winery Marianne- beautiful views, but no tour of the cellar, tasted 4 wines, paired with dried meat from sori h ok, kudu and beef. The Florial wine was exceptional.

Not this one.
The tour company took the booking but contacted me a few minutes later to say the tour did not have enough people to go. I had to spend part of my vacation trying to figure out how to contact TripAdvisor to tell them the company had canceled and ask for a refund. Can't recommend the tour company, and it would be really helpful if TripAdvisor had better contact info available to users.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologise for the significant inconvenience caused on this occasion. Please note that certain tours require a minimum number of passengers in order to operate. Unfortunately, for this particular departure, the minimum requirement was not met, and we were unable to proceed with the tour. We understand the frustration this caused, especially while you were on holiday and with such short notice. In situations like this, we would normally offer to move the booking to an alternative date or recommend a similar tour option where possible to assist with alternative arrangements. Thank you again for your understanding, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the communication process. We will review our listings and look at making this requirement more clearly visible across our booking platforms to ensure guests are better informed prior to booking.

Rob was a wonderfully knowledgeable and interesting guide for a great tour of Stellenbosch and wineries
My wife and I took this half-day Stellenbosch tour on the day that we were scheduled to depart Cape Town. Our guide was Rob Martin, who was a real delight, knowledgeable and interesting. If you take this tour, I would highly recommend that you request Rob as your guide. He picked us up timely at our hotel in the morning (in fact, he was there earlier than scheduled) and after a wonderful tour of Stellenbosch and two wineries (all that we had time for), he got us back to our hotel in plenty of time to collect our suitcases and get to the airport for our flight.

Stellenbosch/vineyard trip.
We wished to arrange a 1/2 day trip to Stellenbosch from Cape Town to see the town and test the wines. Early 8.30 pick up from hotel was excellent and we met our driver/guide Jackie. Small group of 7 people.. 40 minute drive to first vineyard and we enjoyed our first sampling of 4 wines and cheeses. Then drive through Stellenbosch before visiting the second vineyard. Back at hotel by 13.30. Excellent trip when time is limited in Cape Town. Jackie was outstanding.

Two wonderful wineries,...
Two wonderful wineries, experienced descriptions of the wine, four at each winery, and a knowledgeable and safe guide and driver.

Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Stellenbosch.
How much does Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town cost?
+
Prices start at $94 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Stellenbosch usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Stellenbosch is not rushed.
Is Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 133 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Stellenbosch, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Stellenbosch can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Stellenbosch and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half-Day Stellenbosch Winelands Tour from Cape Town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Stellenbosch within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Stellenbosch?
+
On Outty we rank every Stellenbosch experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Afrivista Wine Tours from Stellenbosch, Cape Town Wine Tour: Stellenbosch & Franschhoek +Tastings & Lunch, Private Day Tour to Cape Point , Penguins, Wine or Beer Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Stellenbosch?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Stellenbosch?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
